Unlike some sat phones that use Low Earth Orbiting satellites that are in an orbital plane which is inclined relative to the equator (Iridium), the ISAT Phone Pro uses geostationary satellites which sit over the equator. Even though they are incredibly high (22,000 mile orbit), they can't "see" the poles, or at least it's not reliable enough to advise using them in polar regions.
