It's not the way it used to be. I visited it in 1975. It was exciting! From the top of the tower, we saw nothing but orange groves for miles! The parking lot was packed with visitors. You could buy oranges, juice, and orange-related gifts and trinkets, and orange blossoms filled the air. Now the tower is but a memory of a happier time. From the tower, all you can see is strip malls, cheap houses, and chain stores. The smell is car exhaust and dumpsters. How times have changed.... it's sickening.
Tommy I grew up in Cocoa Beach.... college at UCF Central Florida,, lived in Tampa and wont go back its all gone to hell. Live in NC now. I miss those days,,and I miss my old Fl.
Very nicely done and thanks for preserving what the Citrus Tower looked like in the 90's. Thankfully, it's experiencing a rebirth, but that came with some significant changes though.
The area has changed so much since the 1990's. There is only one orchard left within the view of the tower, the rest have fallen to the bulldozers of developers.
Thanks for the Memories.......i hadnt been there sicne the mid 80s but have diren past it since on variosu trips . ..I ahve fond memeories as well of those of every family member i have getting speeding ticket i nthearea
