  • I might as well join the sperg party...

...this logo's on a DVD for Dirty Harry. Just found it today while editing a fake trailer.

  • Steve Ross bought WB/7Arts from Eliot Hyman...

Ross's Kinney Services owned parking garages and funeral homes... but not Kinney Shoes (which was owned by Woolworth). Kinney became Warner Communications in a couple of years.

  • DW: NOT THE WEIRD SHIELD!!!!!!!

  • I made an altered version of this logo; everything that's yellow is peach, everything that's brown is red, and in the rectangle it reads "A TIMEWARNER COMPANY"

  • WB: Fire Station Television

  • When Kinney bought the company in 1970, they used this logo for about two years, with their name underneath [sometimes identified as "A Kinney Leisure Service"]. After they changed their corporate name to Warner Communications, they redesigned the logo into the "abstract W" that was utilized for the next dozen years or so, before reviving the "classic WB shield"...

  • I know it was used on Performance (1970) and The Devils (1971)

  • @DonaldMcKinney It's also on THX1138. I think it might also be on McCabe and Mrs. Miller, though I haven't seen that in a long time.

  • Does anyone know if this was the logo used on "A Clockwork Orange"? All prints I've seen of it are plastered with the 90's clouds logo.

  • @Childist2 Get a laserdisc of "A Clockwork Orange."

    Like an original 1980s pressing.

  • @JohnFordDanceTroupe So its on there?

  • @Childist2 Well, I don't know. I hear people say that it would be the silent "Warner Communications" '72-'84 logo.

Logos make the film. Expectations, expectations.

  • This logo is so WRONG on many levels....

  • Now if you could find the Warner Bros. Television/Kinney logo, we'll be alright!

  • GREAT! 5/5
