  • I received my brothers autopsy report a month ago and found he overdosed on 15mg of methadone combined with alcohol. I agree with the statements indcating they should have research/googled the drug and I was angry at him for not doing this but he just wanted to get high not knowing the concious of the drug. My son is 15 yrs old,

the tips help because I did not know about pill parties, I am glad to be aware of this before I have to face another idiotic death.

  • wow this made me cry! as a former addict to rx i can relate to this! wow this could have been me, now my whole face is covered with tears :(

  • Yea I never herd of a pill party either I just got my shit and did it whair ever I was every one always thought I was dieing when I was fucked up it didn't bother me when I was on pain pills but if they said that when I was ccc's I would start tripping out thinkin my brain was melting or some shit lol

  • I've been abusing scripts for 4 years and i've never once heard of a pill party. Just another scare tactic.

  • These people died in conjuction with CRIMINAL ACTS! They CHOSE to abuse controlled substances, ILLEGALLY! And they STOLE them, commiting further crimes! From someone's prescription, knowingly! Further FELONIES! And distributing them, in some cases, further felonies! In many cases, MULTIPLE times--think of all the felonies! Sometimes even SOLD them---FELONIES!

Without prejudice, I suspect some of the parents with a legit Rx had Rx ABUSE issues, too!

  • flagged it for drug abuse.

  • So did I--because it ENCOURAGES drug abuse.

  • very good vid...

may i ask what song you used?

  • @catsrul1234---the song played in this "videoclip" is:

"I Will Remember You", by Sarah McLachlan.

  • Prescription drugs are deadly when they are abused. If these kids just used marijuana, they would still be alive. Legalize it and save our children!

  • They are deadly when not abused too. Doctors hold back on telling patients everything they should be told about the drug. They do this so the patient isn't scared off, and so the Doc's feel like they are doing their job by prescribing something. And they also sometimes guilt trip the patient into taking them, or convincing them that there is no other way to fix the problem which is not true at all. I'm speaking from experience. Example: Lithium "can" give people high blood pressure for life.

  • Good points. Patients should be better informed; and doctors should have "contracts" for specific medications (controlled substances, or otherwise, regardless of whether required by law), and instead of a simple signature, the doctor should take take to discuss each point with the patient (and parent, if patient is a minor) these points, before initialing and signing, and doctor prescribing should initial and sign, too--indicating patient is aware.

  • Legalizing Marijuana would simply make it more likely that kids would try other things as well. That is however, the first time I have heard your argument for legalizing pot. Clever, but seriously off the mark.

  • yeah yeah this might seem sad , but the truth is that all of these people would have been alive if they knew what they were taking and at what doses. A little time of research is all you need. It is so simple all you have to do is type in the numners and letters on the pill on google and it will tell what exacly it is. It is their fault they died. Harsh truth but true.

  • I agree--you have a good point. "Thumbs up".

  • @laetrille --- I agree---sad to lose family members and friends; yet you present a great point. I agree with you. "Thumbs up."

  • @laetrille they didnt die because they took the wrong doses you moron. They overdosed trying to get high. Cmon dont be naive

  • @NJDrive9 There is a fine line between drug use and wrong drug use. No matter what the substance it must be regulated by the individual if you are to survive it. These people took doses of opiates that blocked enough receptores to cause cardiac or resperatory arrest. Every person is subject to the same set of rules the game has been the same for thousands of years but in the end the weak will die to make room for the strong and smart drug user.

  • being a teen who's attended rehab myself, let me elaborate for a moment. teens who abuse these drugs are looking a different feeling. a feeling their not getting at home. its called love. if you neglect to show your child love from a young age, then they'll find other ways to fill this emptiness. drugs are a big one. so please, do more then be aware, take action. be a parent.

  • here here

  • @soamazingishine --This can be a part of the situation--needing love, and better parents. But some people still get hooked on drugs--including prescription opioids--regardless of how they are raised and how much they are loved, or perceived to be loved, by their parents or family. "Thumbs up" on your comment.

  • and ur parents are any better for taken the drug 2?

  • @Zebragod420 Great point--the parents might have a prescription "habit"--or occasionally "dabbling into the pills problem or desire sort--problem, too. The parents might have them prescribed for a once legitimate temporary (or prolonged need), yet get refills or other perscriptions for more than they need. The parents might be setting a poor example and not be aware---or definitely not "fessing up" and taking ANY blame or responsibility! Fascists! "Thumbs up" on your comment!

  • Very powerful video... i applaud you...

  • hey lauren i'll try 2 post this on myspace love ya!

  • I didn't know about pill parties either. Its crazy what kids will do to escape.

  • very well done. Almost all those shown had the same birth year as my kids or close to it(Evan 83; Alaina 86). I have never heard of "pill parties" until this video. What a shocker!

  • Wow, Laur, this was really powerful. I will pass it on!
