X Files show was really good. Here's how it went for those who don't know:
A man and his sister were out somewhere. His sister said she would go to the bathroom I think and then came back at like midnight. They went to his house and she stayed there. Next day, she magically disappeared in the night. The man to this day never found her but thinks she was abducted by aliens.
Hope you all understand why the intro is the way it is!
@chunkeykatiyar What messed up The X-Files was the idea that it was a drama show. It never was. It was a 'weird' show, to use the term used for the 'horror' fiction of Howard Philips Lovecraft. Fear of the unknown was and is the greatest fear man has, and as soon as you start explaining what the great conspiracies/events are all about...they become acceptable quantities. To always be wondering, though, and never knowing...that is true horror, to many.
Contrary to popular opinion, I think this original higher pitched and more sparsely orchestrated mix of theme actually sounds better than the one used in later seasons. More sinister, desolate and dark. It really captures the essence of the show. The gradually building crescendo of the Synth pads are a great effect. Too bad they didn't keep this mix longer.
@Surf951 I know what you mean, the newer version only had 4 notes then duplicated and echoed in the main riff, whereas this one has so much echo I can't even count the notes. I've actually been considering re-dubbing my later episodes with the original theme because it's as noticeable as nails on a chalkboard to me.
@Surf951 Definitely. Season 1 and 2 are the same aren't they. It's the later seasons, where the pitch has been moved down, and honestly, after listening to them several times, the later seasons feel kind flat, at least as far as the echoed piano and whistle go. Though I do like that arpeggio of low A and E notes that Snow added to the later themes, it can be heard throughout the score as well.
The x-files has a scary theme song and the movie is a bit scary too. There are aliens in it!!!

@ihatefurrys No that's the original, only its slightly crappy quality but its still the beautiful original.

@NostalgicTimeMan No it isn't. This is significantly higher pitched than the real thing. Watch the DVDs. You'll hear the difference.
