Adorable sounds. I don't agree that it sounds like colic - my horse makes that kind of sound when he's REALLY enjoying himself. Was it really hot? Perhaps he was just enjoying the cool :) Very cute horses, anyawy - especially loved the look of the one the woman was riding.
Love the video, wish we had places that gorgeous to swim ours. We swim then down in a big fresh water lake at the end of a hot day, they love it! They even go in without me. I would recommend if you want to swim them for longer, hold on to their manes and let your body float on top of the water as if you were lying on their back. Makes it easier for them to swim compared to when you are sitting on their back :)
it is a nice video. i don't use bis on my horses though. i took them to the river to see the 'big water' and they didn't want anything to do with it. i've never heard a hors make that funny noise. maybe she was just being careful to blow the water out in case some go in. cute!

Most horses love to swim. Mine always have. And saltwater is supposed to be very good for their muscles. I've always wanted to go riding on the beach...jealous :)

I've swum with horses before. They are entirely capable of swimming for short distances with a human on their back, without stress or hardship.

The horses were struggling to keep their heads above the water so they don't get the salt water in their nostrils. The weight causes strain on them and their hooves are not meant to catch the the water as good as our hands do and other hoof-less animals. I'm a rider. I've been told to never take a horse into deep deep water like that. But I have once, and when you do you need to get off their back and essentially hang onto them by the mane. It's still very physically demanding and dangerous. Definitely not something you do in the ocean. Salt water is harsh. I've only done it in a shallow lake.
It's harder for horses to swim than humans because of their body size compared to their legs and their hoofs don't catch the water the way our hands or dogs' paws do so they really struggle to keep their heads above water for any length of time, let alone carrying a human.
i belive that the horse was makeing that sound because he's moving and swimming, his ears weren't back and if he was scared he would have spooked and maybe tossed the rider . the noise only happend when he is swimming, and seemed ok when walking. he's not scared it's just the way he swims.
Ok firsf of all. Don't ride the horses in deep water where they cannot even touch the ground whilst still on there back. You know horses breathe throught their nose so if the horse was to slip, he could be drowned. Get OFF the horses back and swim with them. No wonder their horses are so afraid.

They're riding wrong.. i dont want to sound like the one who knows everything because i know i dont know everything.. it was smart of them to ride bareback, but when the horse starts swimming you should NEVER ride on their backs because it pushes them down, you should either slide off and swim beside them OR you slide off the back and grab their tails whilst they swim
Listen people. Have you ever ridden a horse in water before? When they start swimming, especially in salt water, you basically drift off their back and float. Plus, remember, these horses are over 10 times your size. It's like a 100lb person swimming with a terrier dog. It's not hard for them at all. Especially that it's salt water. So stop whining and go have fun with your horses (if you have any).

@juniorguerra444 There were no reefs that shallow. I have been to this exact Pampered Ponies in Grand Cayman. The horses loved the water and my horse actually went in the water without me telling her to.
These horses all look very relaxed to me. They do not appear to be stressed out or in distress at all. Hells bells, they and the riders are LIGHTER in the water than they would be on land...lmao...beautiful water...what a great day it looks to have been. Swimming and salt water is GOOD for all creatures!

We went riding in the Caymans. It looks like the same spot! It was so fun! It doesn't hurt horses at all to swim. As long as their head is totally free, they can swim with no trouble. If you had horses, you would know that when it comes right down to it....a horse won't do anything that they don't really want to do! If they're too afraid, they just plain wouldn't go in the water!
I don't think many of the people have read horse books cause it says that horse are very good swimmers and swimming strengthens there muscles! So all you critics can shout up :D

They're riding wrong.. i dont want to sound like the one who knows everything because i know i dont know everything.. it was smart of them to ride bareback, but when the horse starts swimming you should NEVER ride on their backs because it pushes them down, you should either slide off and swim beside them OR you slide off the back and grab their tails whilst they swim

Listen people. Have you ever ridden a horse in water before? When they start swimming, especially in salt water, you basically drift off their back and float. Plus, remember, these horses are over 10 times your size. It's like a 100lb person swimming with a terrier dog. It's not hard for them at all. Especially that it's salt water. So stop whining and go have fun with your horses (if you have any).

It doesn't even hurt the horse when you swim in water, your aloud! I'd love to take my horses in water but I don't live anywhere near a beach and it's freezing weather! your very lucky!

Its good for the horse to swim in the sea, it calms them down. I learnt that in horse biology, apparently the waves soothes and caresses the horse.

@juniorguerra444 There were no reefs that shallow. I have been to this exact Pampered Ponies in Grand Cayman. The horses loved the water and my horse actually went in the water without me telling her to.

These horses all look very relaxed to me. They do not appear to be stressed out or in distress at all. Hells bells, they and the riders are LIGHTER in the water than they would be on land...lmao...beautiful water...what a great day it looks to have been. Swimming and salt water is GOOD for all creatures!

I swam with my horse..BUT I NEVER SAT ON HIS BACK!!! I swam beside him! That guy is so heavy that the horse can't keep his head out of the water!!! God. I't's too upsetting when people are soooo ignorant, and happy!

We went riding in the Caymans. It looks like the same spot! It was so fun! It doesn't hurt horses at all to swim. As long as their head is totally free, they can swim with no trouble. If you had horses, you would know that when it comes right down to it....a horse won't do anything that they don't really want to do! If they're too afraid, they just plain wouldn't go in the water!
