Oh yeah! Thank you. I dunno if you know but somebody like me "touching down" on the runway from video to video and flying on, gets so very much from each and every contact. Thanks again, I'll be back again thru and thru. You are creating a wonderful example for all teachers. I also love your books. Does linguistic talent crossover to musicianship? I conclude that it must.
Hey, I don't play harmonica, but as soon as I bent that third on the guitar (which you do with your pinky, and isn't a totally comfortable feeling at first) I felt like it added a whole new layer of authenticity to my blues playing. Thanks for making this video.
Thanks for all the videos Adam, it's amazing how you've covered almost every topic I have doubts about, I just look for it on YT and there's a video explaining it. It's amazing how much more there is to learn, after you learn the basics and don't know what else to do. So thanks again Adam!
And about spoonful, Stefaon, it's a song by Cream.
Thanks! You've really understood where I'm coming from. As for "Spoonful," it's actually a song by Howlin' Wolf, but the version that I learned from was indeed by Cream. LIVE CREAM VOL. II, I think.
Holy moly. That 10hole third is badass. Playing it and resolving it down to the tonic releases endorphins into my brain. This adds a whole new world of improv possiblities. Thanks.
That's pretty much why. On this particular riff, I can see why somebody might use the 3 blow. If you listen to Big Walter's "Have a Good Time" where he cycles between the two notes, he definitely uses 2 draw, because it makes TB accents easier.
Thanks Adam so much for posting such great videos. If you ever decide to come to Europe for vacation please let me know. Maybe we can setup a blues harp workshop or something.
I've received a formal invitation from the Mundtharmonica Festival at the Seydel factory (castle!) in Germany in mid-September 2008. Email me and we'll talk.
Excellent lesson. That last bit at the end, where you did a round of blues, was especially helpful. Thanks for your time and dedication to novice harpers.
Good stuff!!! Strangely but after this lesson i actually got my low holes bends dialed in ! Specificaly right after you mentioned "squealing 4" and "if you can bend the 2" :) Don't know what happend but i suddenly realized how it's done, now i can't stop doing it, making everybody in the house nuts :)
Just wanted to say THANK YOU ! Again! I could barely draw a single note not to mention bend when i saw your channel at first. Now i can actually keep up with your SOMETIME :)
Hi Adam! I´m getting better and better: I can now scratch my neck just like you do at the end of this video! (of course, I have to work a little harder on my harp playing).
BTW - I'm really enjoying the latest album offering with you & Charlie. The blue third is prominantley featured in it! Especially the work on "Cold Shot" - Well done sir!
Yes! Towards the end of CS, I leave several eblue thirds hanging out there--they're pretty soft, but I nail them just right, "properly," as Nat would say. Still, "Have a Good Time," by Big Walter, is where I learned to play them.
Adam, you crack me up, boy did I need a laugh after working all day. This lesson is very helpful to me, I need to tape off holes 4-10 and just work on those 3 holes. Thank you once again.
