Thanks for posting this! I remember going to see the Rock-a-fire Explosion a couple of times as a kid at the old Showbiz Pizza places. First one I ever saw was in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Good times;)

There was a Showbiz Pizza in our town during the 80's;I remember the Rock-A-Fire Explosion as being top-drawer,like something you'd see at Disney.

oh man...billy bob's. i live in barboursville and this place is like 3 minutes away from my house. My friend when he was 3 years old got up on the stage and started beating the heck out of billy bob and thats why billy bob has that hole on the left part of his mouth. We are both 12 and in 6th grade and we took a field trip there last friday.

I cant believe tht the Rock afire explosion here at Funzone Long Island stopped working...Only the lights and music go on but the characters stay there frozen doing absolutely nothing...I feel bad for the kids who have a birthday party there who cant see the show working =[ And I'm 16 dont get me wrong but I love seeing shows like this it brings back old memories of when I had my very first Birthday Party at Chucky cheese when I was 5

At least the band is moving their mouths. At the place where i go to, the band is so broken that it's hard to hear the music not only that but they barley move at all. If you're going to have a robot band make sure they work or don't show them at all.

That is sad. When I worked for show Biz in the early 1980s, they were so strict that if it was working 98%, they would not turn the show on. We had to strip down the robots every morning and lubricate the movements and synchronize the pneumatic valves with the electronic signals to the music, voices, and movements looked as realistic as a singing mouse, bear, gorilla, etc could. It was a quality show, even if the pizza sucked.

LOL - I would honestly like to see the revival of the rock-afire explosion with updated music. I grew up liking Showbiz and my favorite character was Billy Bob. When those animatronics went away and the chain become known as Chuck E. Cheese, it lost some of that nostalgic charm and who wants to go there to hear a crackling PA system play public domain songs?

Maybe someone should pass along Creative Engineer's website to these guys, I mean Aaron Fechter does have a warehouse with parts and such. Not that he's got a lot left since he sold a lot of them off, but I'm sure he could hook them up. That show really is pathetic. Fats is in horrible shape, Rolfe and Earle are dead. The 'new' songs programmed horribly. If it keeps up like that those bots are going to end up in the dumpster beyond repair. Does this restaurant have a website?

Hey.Reading the description, I have to say, that reason must not be true. They can darn sure get their show worked on and fixed up perfect if they wanted to spend the money to do it. Let's see if we can start a campaign to get them to call me to get it fixed for them. They could have as good a show as Chris Thrash if they wanted it.
