@BlackEvoProductions What if you were using a midi controller to play with slices in the reason nn-xt sampler... or you like the patches you've made for the synth instruments in reason...? or you want to record the mix out of the combinator into a track on pro tools... theres a lot of reasons a person would want to record audio out of reason instead of recording midi messages into pro tools.
THIS WAS SOOOO HELPFUL HOMIE!!! I JUST LOST A DRUM MACHINE AND HAD TO GET BACK TO REASON FOR MAKING BEATS AND THIS IS WHAT I WANTED TO KNOW FOR THE LONGEST!!!!! GOOOD LOOOOKIN'!!!!!!
Your tutorials are very helpful. Thank you for taking out time from your schedule to educate us....keep em comin....good luck with the music. Thanks!!
Man thanks for this tutorial bro. Ive seen a few cats try n explain how to do this same process but u broke it down so that its easy to follow. Thanks again boss keep um comin. nice trak by the way..
Your a smart homie.i'm going purcase an mbox and reasons pretty soon, when your download reasons and protools to your mac, does it atomaticcly read each other??
Great tutorial! One thing -- when PT records audio, it saves the file with the name of the track so it makes sense to rename tracks as soon as you create them. Otherwise your hard drive fills up with dozens files called of Audio 1, Audio 2 and so on. Which makes it hard to find stuff if you want to reuse it.
If you rename the files before recording, you can (for instance) use Spotlight to search for audio files with Shaker in the name. Much better!
"Wow!" you made what seemed complex, easy. And was not boring at all. This is the best tutorial I've seen so far, even better then the Cool School videos I Have. Thanks!
Good lookin my G on the two new tutorials. I got a request for one more. Can you show us how to properly save your pro tools session on disk or Ext. HD for the purpose of taking your session to the Big Pro tools HD studio to master.
Drop me a message when you do, and thank you again for your knowledge. Word to the wise, you can definitely get paid putting out tutorials for sale cause your instructions are so clear and plain that a child can comprehend.
I just have question. Why is this better than just soloing your reason tracks individually and importing each individual track into pro tools...I was trying figure which was best but I wanna know for sure. Right I'm leaning towards my idea. I just wanna know the pros and cons of both.
What up, you save my life on this video, I couldnt figure out and noone could tell me and I love the way you broke it down real simple, check it, I subscribed to your page and looking forward to future tutorials Im new to this as far as making beats on my own but have had a studio for about 2yrs, I rent out studio time and manage different artist . Keep em comming. B-more in here, Thanks again
what is the program you used to record your voice while shootin the video? and also what is the program you used to get the view of pro tools as you did the tutorial?

Hi again. Wanted to ask you will it be the same in Propellerhead Record also or any changes?
kobiadato 2 years ago
No, Propellerhead made it to where Reason and Record work as one, so there's no need for rewire.
