@dander545 I bet it doesnt get as good of fuel milage as you think. plus the weight! prob weighs upward to 1000lbs!! And for any reason it did get better mpg it would equal out from the $5/gal diesel prices!

Only problems I can see is, 1 weight, dont want to much weight on the transom, but thats becoming a lesser problem with the boat makers making storger transoms for 4stroke engines. 2, no docks are going to have a diesel pump for a diesel out or inboard engine, atleast non at our local lake! But Other than that, awsome engine!

sounds great man, I'd like 2 on the back of my 27 footer. Its ashame that the other big outboard manufacturers arent making diesel outboards already. Thats a huge market, it would be nice..

I think the only problem with this will be the weight distribution and the strain on the transom. You would probably need to reinforce the transom. But compared to the pluses of this engine,that is a minor issue. I can't wait for this thing to come out

@zicer01 yeah, but the tourque this thing has to put out is most definately comparable to larger v6 gas outboards. So its a very arguable topic, but good idea.

wow i would say this is a must for the gofast boys in center consoles running to the canyons. long runs like that arent good on gas engines.

And it prob weighs another couple hundred more, not a big deal with gobs of torque

but I dunno anyone who would want to pay 50% less on fuel for their boat, and def wouldnt know anyone who would possible run theirs on biodiesel for an even bigger savings
