this is a good video, Because i had a accident couple months ago it started from a skid kinda like what you're talking about, But it was because water and oil on the road way, But thanks so much for this...it really does give you a since of what to do.
Actually if you're in a front wheel drive car it's best to add a bit of accelerator to your counter steer so that the front wheels pull you back into a straight line. I wouldn't recommend it around a corner though, it adds understeer ultimately.
As long as you don't brake too hard you'll be ok. Adding a bit of accelerator dosent help the situation at all as it just speeds the car up, it does help drag it straight a bit but it makes the situation more dangerous also.
In a front-wheel drive car, the correct technique does not include countersteering. The driver should take off a bit of lock while accelerating. This corrects the slide.
However, for road drivers, the method suggested above is better.
yes well it all depends on the car. if i let off on the gas on my car it will spin :P have to give a little opposite lock and a little gas. typical rear wheel sports car
I agree with Deemack, not many people do remember/ know about the pause; people find themselves playing with the steering wheel, making the car unstable from the weight moving around from side to side

Turning during the pause, that's such an important part many people forget. Great video!
