@ROSIE8134 Well, Gohan did but when Trunks beat 17 & 18 in the future Cell was formed and Trunks beat cell. But a while after that Bulma who was still living created a time device for Trunks so he can go back in time and beat all the androids before they killed everyone but when he got in he went back 17 years and the time machine made his power level drop.So then he didn't haave enough power to defeat cell but Gohan did.

@TheEccentialOne your logic is horrible, trunks got sent to the past to warn goku and the others about the soon to come androids. after gohan killed cell in te present where goku is alive, Trunks was strong enough to go to his own time,kill the androids and cell, everyone in Trunks timeline is dead, including gohan

of course trunks get killed in the future by cell... it's his perfect form, but the android 17 and 18 at the future are far weaker than at the past that trunks came.

if the future androids can get a critical hit by trunks and gohan WITHOUT become SUPER SAIYAN, they seems received large damaged.

there are three different time lines in dbz. in the past, gohan kills cell. goku dies by saving the earth from cell exploding.

in the 1st alternate future goku dies from a heart attack. z-fighters are killed by the androids, and gohan is the only one to survive. 13 years later he gets killed by the androids, trunks try's to avenge him but fails. he realizes that he not strong enough, so he goes to the past to change history.

the 2nd alternate future is when trunks goes back in time after finding out about the remote dr.gero made to shut off the androids. he makes his own and turns them off. thats when cell starts to show his face. he began to feed on the people until he strong enough to absorb both androids. In the future the androids are weak compared to the present andriods when goku still alive. anway cell finds out that 17 and 18 have been killed by trunks.

once Cell finds trunks and discover that he can travel back in time. he kills trunks with ease, then travels back in time to absorb 17 and 18.

3rd time line. is after gohan kills cell and trunks returns to another past. the reason he does this is because, his mother was killed by the androids. since he goes back to anther time-line, 17, 18, and cell are still alive. this time Trunks is strong enough to kill all of them and become then new protector of earth. i hope this helps u
