I can see your idea of it having a double meaning, though I didn't think about it till I read your comment. Given other songs from The Postal Service, I can see it as well - a repeating circle of one night stands. False love that is overly optimistic and just a brief bit of lust before the cycle repeats when he lives them there in bed.
