The combat actually feels significantly worse than in the original Ninja Gaiden.

New weapons and combos as well as obliterations, ok, but already on Mentor mode the chances to get between the grappling, incendiary shuriken spamming "claw ninjas" are down to zero.

And I really miss the jump and run elements.

And finally - the technique I used: - I just jumped and used by throwing stars - They don't do damage, but they do keep the enemy off balance (and you never run out of them). - I just keep that up until I get close enough to rip them apart with my meelee weapon (preferebly, the Eclipse Scythe).

Overall - there's no luck to it when using any of those techniques - It's even possible to get past them without any damage.

I'm not even thinking about Hardest Difficulty. - Is that where you had the trouble? It's my first time - so I started on Path of the Warrior, but I watched a guy who posted a walkthrough on a harder difficulty and he didn't use my techniques, but still didn't have many issues with those rocket launcher guys.

The 1st NG was re-released as NG Black because the missions were added on to it. - The first NG allowed you to unlock and play the NES versions and those were the biggest differences.

If you have ninpo - use that. - At this point I have my fire ball Ninpo fully upgraded and that would wipe the rocket launcher guys right out.

Another good weapon against them is your explosive darts (if you have any) - I guess you could use arrows, but they may not be quick enough.

Another thing I suppose you could do is "keep moving" - The rocket launcher only hit you is you stay in one spot. - keep jumping and dodging until you get close to them and use your eclipse scythe:

And where's the proof of him turing into a bird? - I see the bird at the end, but there's no Ryu to Bird transformation there. It's likly the same bird that brought him back. - The grave (if you follow the story, which I admit is better than NG II's story) - is where he gets the jewel that gives his sword full upgrade. - That is not Ryu's grave, but some other poor ninja master.

As far as the story as a whole - I hate the fact that it doesn't really pick up from where the last one left off and there's no mention of Rachel - It's like a separate story and not a continuation, but it is supposed to be a continuation - and that did fustrate me, but again - it doesn't kill the game.

Well - to be clear - I'm not saying it doesn't have negatives. - You jumped in at the back end of a debate between Ripvan X and myself. - This debated started off with Rip arguing that it is in fact a horrible game. - he even suggested that it should be a shooter instead of a ninja game.

My comments were there are shooters and action games - This game falls under action/adbenture and maybe even fighter. - And it doesn't fail in those catagories and it shouldn't be considered a shooter.

They all sound like theyre drooling over the crazy fast paced fights and graphics, which are great i dont deny that, but they overlook all the bad because they love it so much.

Oh that reminds me of another boss where you have to fight two dragons and you have to fight them with just the bow. Its so awesome they give you so many cool weapons and then force you to use the bow. Oh yeah they recycle this boss too and fight it again. man I mean after all the action its just...Annoying.

Next recycling bosses, even if it makes sense, is always really annoying. you end up fighting so many of those spider fiends not to mention the exploding armadillo which you fight three of. its just lazy. design more bosses man. As far as Difficulty goes i like a challenging game too but thats where the the projectiles cross that line. You dont have much but your bow against hordes of army guys. NG 1 had balance for this just a chapter or two. this just drags you deeper and deeper.

Then he says figured the first boss crossbred hisself with a spider, but in the first Ninja Gaiden it is explained how these monsters come to be and it's not from crossbreeding.

A: Now in his review he admits that he didn't care what certain Characters had to say in the cutscene - then he also says he couldn't hear some of it. - He also complained about starting off in Tokyo and all of a sudden being in NY. - But if he could hear and did care what was going on in the cutscene the story wouldn't be incoherent. - They explaning in the cutscene why he goes to NY.

I was just guessing before when I was saying reviewers gave this game a high rank. - So I actually looked up sites and it's hard to find one review giving it under an 8. - I found only one that gave it a 7.3 -

It even got a 9 from three sites and an 8.7 from the well known IGN, and an 8.9 from Atomic Gamer.

I read the 7.3 reviewer and the negatives with my resposes are above.

So parts like this turn into how am i going to run up the hundred feet with my melee weapons to hit this guy with infinite missiles that h can continously fire like hes got a minigun for them. The game simply has to many parts like this. fighting ninjas is fun but after the beginning you simply dont very often. I reference the title screen ryu standing alone with all the swords. the swords represent all the enemies who have given up fighting hand to hand and choose rockets instead.

Well - He's fighting mostly monsters. - The few scenes in this game have a few enemies shooting explosive arrows, but I did see some clips in later chapters where they use guns, but I don't know if they're spider ninjas. - Could be they are military for he fought military enemies in the first one. - But overall - it's a good "game" - being that it's a "game" and not a ninja documentary - I can let the inaccuracy pass. Really, if you want history on ninja techniques - don't use a GAME.

wat i also hope for this is to hav the choice to completely evicerate a boss. i h8 having to hav gone through sooo much crap and too see the boss just fall down and disapear. i like 2 see them pay like in god of war.

i really like how enemies look here. they look tough. i h8ed underestimating bad guys on the other ninja gaidens. the ogres and berserkers were my favs cuz they look tough. btw im talking bout non boss badguys. too bad dmc4 didnt thought of this. none of the monsters look threatning at all.

I really dont like the dismemberment in this one. It's TOO MUCH! I like Ninja Gaiden Sigma better because it's mostly just blood,not ALL THESE PIECES ON THE BATTLEFIELD, it looks annoying

The gore is really going to be extreme in this game, blood and guts everywhere.I don't care the combat is sick and just want to play.

For your information, I played manhunt 1 and 2, GTA's, Half life 2 gore mods, and much more. I've watched Cannibal holocaust and Brain dead. There is such a thing as OVER-GORED. I'm not scared of gore (i laugh), but seeing countless heads, torsos, legs, and etc almost more than 5 times would be a bore.

PS. Dark sector is on my top 2008 list to get
