@seandherbert100 In poetry and lyrics, we often switch around the positions of words for the sake of meter, rhyme, etc. In this case, it means "we bring a gay garland," and the word gay just means festive, and has no connection to homosexuality :) .. got it from Answersdotcom

@ishvareya i knew it has nothing to do with homosexuality. just didnt know what she was talking about. but why a garland? i dont get it. but i know what the words mean separately. "we bring a garland gay" to what? to whom? to the forest? etc. what does "weve been rambling all the night" mean? I know what rambling means but what does it mean in this context? what does Loreena McKennitt mean to say?
