The SV1000S and the Hayabusa are just two completely different animals. You are talking about a V-twin vs a 4 cylinder both setup for two completely different styles. Both are great bikes, but the Busa was made to dust everything in a straight line. It has almost twice the HP the SV does. It's top end is built to destroy it.
"300cc more and it just leaves the SV in it's wake" Really, I would have thought the extra CC's would weigh down the bike, I wonder how thy busa one? It must be magic...
the busa is a fucking speed demon, but i dont think its a good bike for twisties or anywhere where its not s straight line. the SV, both 650 and 1k are the shit. i am in the process of selling my 650 for one of these. i dont think am ever gonna ride anything other than the SV. they are simply the shit
@hateutubepolicy About 170mph INDICATED.Actual top speed verified by gps or radar is in the150mph range. Most if not all speedometers lie(they read optimistically).NOT trying to be a wise ass here, just trying to give you the straight facts.
n the sv is not a motorcycle to run the speed c, but is a bike to ride in the mountains come with your busa on a mountain road you will not hold 3 seconds
@TheBilliebobsmith well, i must admit that my katoom has had some electrical issues that none of my jap bikes ever had. that said, i do haunt gateway international raceway most weekends its open to bikes. come on over, i wouldn't mind racing ya. if you really do have an s1000rr, you have an awesome machine, but can you ride it? i beat lots of jap literbikes, and ive been beaten by some guys on bikes much slower than mine in a drag race. thats why dragging is for pussies...
@spynonu You're right. And on a track,a sv 650/1000 with proper suspension mods will literally run rings around a 'busa, but as you stated, would be totally shredded by the 'busa down the 1320.
tell the busa driver to take a 20 degrees (not more) turn with his topspeed.. then u'll watch him bouncing like a ball after 2 secs.. BUSA CAN'T T-U-R-N!!! SIMPLE ENGLISH
@rpappi this is a matter of what everyone personally likes but the fact is that the manufacturer of all suzuki bikes said that busa is more of a straight line bike and can't turn as much as gsx-r and other supersport models (of course it can turn fine, it's a streetbike but u can't take sick turns like gsx-r , zx 6 and many other bikes
@kostikasGR lol you make me laugh. it can take "sick" turns just like any other bike out there. now when your talking about shaving 1/10 second off a lap time the gsx-r is going to be quicker and easier in the corners. but a Busa is not a road track racer. but it is NOT a strait line bike. it is an corner carving dream bike. anyone that complains about the busa not being able to keep up in the corners or being sluggish. doesn't know proper technique. its a nimble toy if you know Technique
@rpappi technique about driving this piece of shit.. it's really different than normal street bike teqhniques.. even the 1100xx that is a longer bike is much more easily driven
@kostikasGR lol man you're funny. ???technique about driving this pieve of shit.??? what did you mean to say cause that doesnt make sense
easily driven... really.. ya its such a hard bike to RIDE you dont drive a bike. its truly all about technique if you dont know technique then ya its going to be a big bike to throw around but at any speed over 15 miles per hour if you cant toss that bike from side to side your not using technique.
Unfair test. Rolling test is BS because the SV will win off the line. Twins are low and midrange street bikes. Busas are all top end (And top heavy!). Do that test from a standstill, get a SVS with fairing, and a few less than 103K (!!) miles and try that again. The Busa will still pull away but it won't be as far as it looks in that vid.
@devil421 busa will still pull from a stand still. i love the SV but the busa has more torque at 3k rpm than the sv has anywhere. not only that but the busa also has a longer wheel base. so it can put more power down and not pull the front end up.
no matter how you stack the chips the busa will pull and pull hard.
they are big and heavy but once they are moving they move around effortlessly. you can toss them around all day and put your knee down all day.
The SV1000S is more of a sportbike. The Hayabusa is a sport touring bike- longer, heavier... OBVIOUSLY the Hayabusa is faster in a straight line. A lot faster. But I don't ride on a race track. My SV1000S goes 0-60 in under 3 seconds and has a top speed of... I don't even know. So the Hayabusa's extra power is pointless for me. For an all around every day bike, I wouldn't trade my SV for anything. Nothing wrong with the Hayabusa, I just don't see the point in comparing two bikes so different.
so a completely naked bike with a rider who has no idea how to tuck and keep his elbows in, versus the completely fairinged (no idea if thats actually a word) bike wit better gearing ....a bit unfair i should think
I`m actually more impressed with the sv.It has 130,000 miles on it and is still going well. The busa wasn`t as far out in front as i expected it t to be either.
i cant believe the sv1000 didnt win! i was expecting the 130,000 mile naked v-twin to smoke that 180hp busa with fairings...what is the world coming to?? ;)
What a crap test!!! Crusty old NAKED plodder vs fully FAIRED mile muncher. Of course the Busa will win in a straight up drag. It is amongst 200mph royalty (before being factory limited to 186mph), Sv1k about 155mph. Thats all well and good, but I bet you can use more of the power from the twin on a real road test (ie with twists and turns). And Twins sound much nicer.
Why is this even a comparison?? Put the Busa in the twisties with the sv and the sv will spank the pants off the busa, then the busa will try to pull its pants up and BAM spanked off once more.
Hey JacquesZupp, humm on my nutts, the busa is not ugly and can keep up with a gsxr 1000 for the most part and coming out of a apex in a corner will blow your socks off.
Busa's are so overrated. when the heck is ANY rider going to need that much power? oh I know, when they wanna crash and die. My pick is the SV1000. more than enough power for me. plus it sounds sexier.
hmmmm the busa can rev higher....its more powerful...it develops more hp in higher rpm range... the SV builds torque faster.....cant produce the rpms a inline 4 can...
"with just 300cc more..." oh and that shouldn't make any difference?? Get real mate...
Ah one more thing: why in the "description" of the models u've put @ 0:22 "suzuki sv1000 vs STOCK(???) hayabusa" ? Why? isn't the suzuki stock as well? It's a pointless video imHo tho I always like to see bike videos even in those with ridiculous comparisons and foolish comments.
Look at the fat rider in his fat bike resting his arm in his knee after THE RACE (lol).. wow what a badass style he has lol
I have one of each... and love them both!!! SV1000S is light and fun on the curves and the busa is just total excess. Sort of depends what you are looking for, all out power or a nice touring bike with sport properties. As far as the performance goes, SV is a (Pinto) going against a Busa (Porsche). Not much of a comparison! Busa may be ugly to some, but you wont know it as its passes your bike so quickly, all you notice is the sound and smell of gas fumes.
tbh the Busa rider is not using all the gears, he is changing at 8/9 thousand rpm! if he was to use all the gears right round to the red there will be a big change in the result!
Id still rather have the SV.. better in turns and acceleration... which is more fun than going top speed down a straight road... besides. What races do you see with a straight? NONE.. they're all turns.. Busa wouldn't stand a chance in a REAL race.
WOW that is a comment i'd expect from a newbie. Displacement means absolutely nothing when you're talking about two completely different types of engines.
@36Rza Actually inline 4's typically have considerably more torque, even a 600cc can have more torque than some 1000 V Twins. Don't mistake torque and a "torquey" feeling for what is actually a low end powerband. The SV makes it's power at lower rpms, where you have to rev a I4 higher to bring it into it's powerband. Just a common misunderstanding.
@xplorwest Hmm, the SV650 produces about as much torque as the 600s which just have more hp at higher rpms. And of course the 600s have a much higher compression ratio. Another thing, busas are the ugliest and most boring bikes out there, why anyone would want to ride a bike for nothing but going in a straight line eludes me. I would rather ride a moped than a drag bike, and I would rip shit up too :D
and "yet" it leaves the SV in its way? "Only" 300cc is an increase of 30% over the 1000cc.
Furthermore, an big v-twin is awesome to ride because of its low end torque character and is not built peak-output like the 4-in-line. (yes busa has loads of torque too..but still)
@JacquesZupp you dumbfuck, the daddy? i've had 3 Gsxr's a 04 750 and two 06 1000's, i now have a 09 busa, and this bike is heavy as fuck, but also has 341Bhp. stands right up just as easy haha. and this video is dumb as shit, what do you think, a busa over a sv1000, lmao shit a gsxr600 or any 600 can beat an SV. lol
@motosporttouring Break horsepower, its bored to the max, jetted with a PC3, full exhaust system with moto gp slip ons, Vortex xprockets, +2 in the back -1 in the front, and a 200 wet shot of nos. Soon to have a Greedy turbo kid customly installed and built by performance possibilites near where i live. after that around 440 BHP estiamte.
I went from an R1 to a gsx 1400 which was just too heavy, now on an sv 1000 and lovin it, does whatever you want it to do, have tried my mates busa, deffo stayin with the sv, horses for courses
So lemme get this straight. You're telling me that a naked bike with a lumpy 1000cc twin 109hp with 130k miles on the engine is not as fast as a 1300cc 180hp 4 with aerodynamically designed fairings?
Didn't mention the fact that the Hayabusa gets a 10% horsepower increase from the ram air when the bike breaks 80mph or so... The SV is a monster in it's own.. I ride one daily...
Thanks for explaining to me that your Hayabusa is an "actual" sport bike and not a fake one. Also thanks for showing me that it is fast. I did not know that. I'll bet winning that race took a lot of talent - turning a tube counterclockwise and leaning forward can be challenging for some people. Not for you though! You should be proud of yourself!
What's a milk crate mod to rear suspension ? I'm a fairly light fella {150lbs without clothing} and the rear shock on my K3 naked feels like it's had an articulated lorry mod - ie, it's as hard as a brick.
I wouldn't have anything else. SV is such a mad around town bike, wheelstands off the throttle in first second easy, great brakes, heaps of low down power, and takes tight corners easy.

The engines work totally different.
4 cylinder is better for top speed and the v twin better for torque, so with 300cc this is quite a lot more bhp over the sv1000.
more bhp = high top speeds.
Busa was built to go very fast.
Sv was built to have grunt and be easy to ride.

Just a common misunderstanding.
xplorwest 1 year ago
@xplorwest Hmm, the SV650 produces about as much torque as the 600s which just have more hp at higher rpms. And of course the 600s have a much higher compression ratio. Another thing, busas are the ugliest and most boring bikes out there, why anyone would want to ride a bike for nothing but going in a straight line eludes me. I would rather ride a moped than a drag bike, and I would rip shit up too :D
shadowofcalistis 1 year ago
@xplorwest
example of a 600cc making more torque than a 1000 please?
DarkMatterX1 1 year ago
and "yet" it leaves the SV in its way? "Only" 300cc is an increase of 30% over the 1000cc.
Furthermore, an big v-twin is awesome to ride because of its low end torque character and is not built peak-output like the 4-in-line. (yes busa has loads of torque too..but still)
And as mentioned the SV1000 has no fairing..

@JacquesZupp you dumbfuck, the daddy? i've had 3 Gsxr's a 04 750 and two 06 1000's, i now have a 09 busa, and this bike is heavy as fuck, but also has 341Bhp. stands right up just as easy haha. and this video is dumb as shit, what do you think, a busa over a sv1000, lmao shit a gsxr600 or any 600 can beat an SV. lol
fireoncrack 1 year ago
@fireoncrack 341 BHP? What'd you do to it? Do tell!!
motosporttouring 1 year ago
@motosporttouring Break horsepower, its bored to the max, jetted with a PC3, full exhaust system with moto gp slip ons, Vortex xprockets, +2 in the back -1 in the front, and a 200 wet shot of nos. Soon to have a Greedy turbo kid customly installed and built by performance possibilites near where i live. after that around 440 BHP estiamte.

Hilux vs DB9. True that would be a good matchup. I would love to see it. Carry on the good work.
CorporateExTraining 1 year ago
He're an idea,... For your next challenge, maybe put a Toyota Hilux up against a DB9.
You Twats!! Get off!

For their next video they will pit a late 80s GSXR against a 2009 ninja 250r. Let the stupidity begin!
likebikes665 1 year ago
The fact that you would run a fully faired hyper inline4 sportbike against a naked average v-twin is so dumb!
motard86tazer 2 years ago
well this video is retarded.... sv is a V twin so all of its appeal is in the low end. The inline 4 on a busa will kill anyone in the high end.

v twinsports rock! tl 1000s for me !

@atreewithnolife yeah i currently have the sv650, but would like to upgrade to its bigger brother (or sibling, the tl1000!)

All things considered regarding the SV i think he did a Damn good job ... well done .. Naked SV with spaceship mileage good on yer for trying !

ONLY GOOD N A STRAIGHT LINE-HAHAHA
BLINKOFANEYE333 2 years ago
C'mon guys it isn't about the "which is bigger/better", it's just a comparison between two friends it looks like with nice bikes.
jdmartin010101 2 years ago
So lemme get this straight. You're telling me that a naked bike with a lumpy 1000cc twin 109hp with 130k miles on the engine is not as fast as a 1300cc 180hp 4 with aerodynamically designed fairings?
Wow. Such insight.
nvisionthing 2 years ago 135
@nvisionthing ...Yeh! I just didnt expect that!!! Ha!
The guy on the SV did well to hold on!
chaseybears 1 year ago
@nvisionthing Watch the video more closely mate, the two bikes are starting side by side the hayabusa is leaving sv in dust after like 1 second.
MisekD2 6 months ago
Didn't mention the fact that the Hayabusa gets a 10% horsepower increase from the ram air when the bike breaks 80mph or so... The SV is a monster in it's own.. I ride one daily...
sloandown 2 years ago
thanks for the obvious narrator! Two more cylinders and 300 more cc's. I never knew that! haha
bmewillow1985 2 years ago
Thanks for explaining to me that your Hayabusa is an "actual" sport bike and not a fake one. Also thanks for showing me that it is fast. I did not know that. I'll bet winning that race took a lot of talent - turning a tube counterclockwise and leaning forward can be challenging for some people. Not for you though! You should be proud of yourself!

What's a milk crate mod to rear suspension ? I'm a fairly light fella {150lbs without clothing} and the rear shock on my K3 naked feels like it's had an articulated lorry mod - ie, it's as hard as a brick.

hahah I have an sv1000s, but its still not a busa

No courners, but we'll rail the corners in any canyon. No coroners, either, thankfully.

what's a courner???

exactly lol
steadiworkz 2 years ago
I still wouldn't mind having that SV. Seems like it would be pretty fun in-town....
kevincolvin 2 years ago 3
I wouldn't have anything else. SV is such a mad around town bike, wheelstands off the throttle in first second easy, great brakes, heaps of low down power, and takes tight corners easy.

Dont mess with Busa.
