I have Paris 195mm trucks on my pintail 40 and I have to say that it's the best setup ever, with Atobe 76mm 78a wheels; it works awesome, it brings me a lot of balance on pushings and downhills, thing that original trucks doesn't
I'm a very big Guy and was questioning what was the right board and setup. I decided on the pintail 43 and thanks to you I went with the s10's and white springs. Thanks so much man!
@docirishmpm Bushing? what kind of trucks did you get? If you bought the Original trucks, you might be talking a bout the Wave-Cam. They break from time to time and are like 2 bucks for new ones. If your board it that new it may still be under warranty. in regards to the squirreliness, original trucks are not the best for downhill ..in my opinion. If you buy stiffer springs you will find that will help.
how are those white springs treating you, can you still carv it big? i just ordered them for my pintail 43 and im excited. i wanted them so i could bomb some bigger hill and dance without any worries
hey man i just got my paintail 43 and i didn't know that it was not going to come with the purple wheels . and i i'm asking you if it's worth it to bye the purple weels . are they good at sliding ,do you feel any bumps when you go on a bad street cuz i want to get them for me bday it's coming up in to days and it's wheels or airsoft gun , so i need to know if there good.
I am riding the Pintail 40 right now, great board, the S8 trucks are great on the 40 inch board if anyone is wondering, but if you want to bomb hills, Original trucks arent the best by any means, however in terms of carving? They are my favourite.
@johnnymitnick I sometimes take my Apex to the legendary FDR skatepark, or pintail and apex to the art musuem, down fairmont. I live in North Philly so its flat and sketchy to go cruising around lol.
I just bought this board because of this video! I got the S10 trucks and I was wondering if you ever trip over the front trucks? they seem really big but then again, if they were way to big, Original probably wouldn't sell them!
hey man I saw your videos and I was trying to debate between the apex 37 and the pintail 43 and you helped me decide to get the pintail 43 I just got off the phone with them from ordering and I told them idothefish helped me out... thanks alot man
I've got the pintail 43 with s8 trucks...I want some abec 11 big zigs or O Tang in heats, i cant decide between the two... but with a 75mm wheel would I get wheelbite?
If this is awesome to hear... I have the order open in the other tab. One button away from completing it. I think I'm gonna press it after seeing the vid. Wasn't sure if I should drop over $200 riiight now but sounds like it's worth it. Thanks man!
thanks man, I'm buying this board this friday :D you definitely helped me pick out the board :P also, in the buying options it says 'Graphic Blem' and you have to choose one... what is a graphic blem? :S sorry for sounding nooby
hey buddy, thanks for your input I want to get a Original board but dont know what to get, Im 5.5 and 180 pounds, I want it for downhills rides, any idea, thanks man!
hi i ordered a pintail 43 from original little over a week ago, n the only notification i've received is a board build in progress, just wondering how long this board build might take, i emailed them but got no reply.
Hey, i realy want to get this board ! i cant decide which trucks to get S8 or S10 trucks, are the S10 trucks alright for cruising ? Cause i want a stable board for cruising and for the occasional hill or so.
Hey there I have a pintail 46 and it's the best board any1 could pick up it's easy to ride it's really stable and I love it the design is good and it's well worth ur money and thinking about buying I rate it
Hey bro what do you think of the pintail 46? if you got one do you think you could post a video im really interested in either getting a pintail 43 or 46 but just cant decide help me please?
@118stoopidhead I don't have the 46 and I don't know anyone that does, but i would have made a video man. Honestly, the 43 is like too long sometimes, i dunno what the heck i'd do with a 46!
dudes and dudettes, trucks are not shitty or great, except when they are made shitty. original trucks are a love/ hate relationshit. i personally love them, but my friend hates them. if you want stability, go get some bushing trucks. if you want intense carves and almost no effort to lean, get an original. simple.
@emosp0ngebob True, but higher spring tension will make originals ride like bushing based bearings but when you give it your all you can still carve like hell.
Great video! Is there any wheel-bite with that board shape? I've been wanting a pintail for a while but it looks like bite would be an issue. I'm a pretty big guy too and was planning on the S10s and white springs as well. I've tried boards shaped like the APEX and Dervish and bite wasn't an issue, but these are a different beast I can tell. Thanks man! :)
watching your videos really helped me make a decision on what board i wanted. i just ordered my pintail 43 and now i just gotta wait... this is gonna be one great christmas gift. thanks a bunch =]
you helped me out a ton! i'm buying the pintail 43! thanks for your help, i was deciding on the malakai 40 or the pintail 40/43 but i think the 43 is best for what i want to do. thanks again
what is your opinion on non-Original trucks on the pintail? ive owned S8s, but theyre shit. i got some paris trucks and im liking them a lot better, do u think they would work well on the pintail?
im really digging the pintail, but i want the 46 cuz im a tall dude so i think a longer board would be better, but yeah im interested to know what your thoughts are on that board, and or should i just get the 43?
hey bro im like 5'2 but i still like pretty big boards but i really like carving too and imma pretty experieced rider (of skateboards) but should i get a 40 or 43??
hey man ive only been longboarding once is this a good beginner board? hows the flex is it stiff or really flexy cuz im not looking to ride something really flexy to me it feels a bit sketch
@94jeepdude You just asked for an Original Pintail dude. The board is stiff and very solid. it is perfect for beginners and if you learn on an Original you will be a much more proficient rider in the long run!
@zbigredz15 The 46 is a super long board my man. but its not too scary. i think the 43 if perfect for me, but 3 inches may not be the end of the world.
yo, i have a crazy wierd setup, but i have a krooked zigzagger with oj wheels and original s8 trucks the deck is 32 inches, and i am getting alot or speed wobbles with the black springs i am 5'9 and weigh 145, should i upgrade to white springs or red/ i want the carving but love bombing and going fast
@doubleGNARflip360 what is your weight? i wouldn't advise tightening the blacks too much, but the reds can be smooth and tight. ..that's what she said.
hey nice i ordered mine, and im waiting for it maybe coming in the next 2 weeks or so, and i was wondering i got everything standard except the wheels i got in heats, but im 5'10 and 189 pounds, do i have to get bigger trucks?
hey i was at quiksilver the other day and i decided that i was going to get a sector 9 board because it would be cheaper. Well i havent decided which one to get, what would you reccomend and do you know if it would be compatible with original trucks if not thats ok but that would be a bonus if it is thanks!
@polarisguy97 The price difference may not be that big man. A decent sector costs about 165, and even then the quality of them are not up to par with Original. the pintail is like 180 i believe, and buying a complete from original is much more cost efficient than buying original trucks and a sector board. I am not positive about the compatibility because of the trucks range, it didn't work on my girlfirend's teahpoo or friend ala moana. Also orig has lifetime mech warranty and 6 months deck!
@vicious274 I am about the same weight and use whites. I have ridden all of their springs and always all of their boards ..Its kinda up to how you ride. I use whites because the weight recommendation is for the whites, but also because I can have them tightened for control on big hills or a little looser for deep carves and flatland. If you tighten blacks or reds too much you can break your wave cams easier. There is a difference, but not that much man.
@TheDauid i have that set-up with s10s. it really is up to you and what type of riding you will be doing. if you are heavier, taller, ad downhillier, s10s. BE forewarned that you have to push wide though or else you will run over your heals! XD
@TheAshleylynne420 i weigh about 200 big ones. Its a solid board if you are concerned about breakage. I doubt it would under anything under 350. if you are lighter and want more flex, check the 40!
@metseranen0304 Flatland slides especially at a slower speed will loose speed quicker. Downhill riding and sliding will give you a more effective slide with less speed reduction, but that doesn't mean you need to dive right into the deep end. I would try getting some speed flatland or on a small hill, and use the balls of your back foot close the the inside edge, positioned farther back, and whip it out. Keep your shoulders parallel to your board, ALWAYS. Try backside first, tends to be easier.
@polarisguy97 Dude there is not that much flex so flatland riding is awesome. You will be cross-stepping and carving deep and low with ease. I would recommend red springs on some s8s if you are going to be doing some flatland. Also Look into some nice wheels so you can get the most out of the streets. I prefer Retros or O-tangs!
Finaly got my PIINTAAAAIL 43 :D you told me to put up a response video and for the last 3 days ive been taking shots with my friends, but my old computer aint able to edit them but i wi will probbly get the video up in a few days i guess :D It rides like a DREAM! Love it:D
@Rehabveteran1 it is very nice. you can whip it around easily. controlling it may be a little harder because of its lenght, but honestly, if you have never slided before, this board is amazing to learn on. plus for advanced riders it is a dream.
@mw2monster427 no no no. All of the orignal boards and their stock setups and upgraded hanger sizes are designed so you will never get wheel bite. whether is it a riser, graphed slips, ANYTHING ...you will not get wheel bite ..unless you throw s6s on a bigass board.
@TriforceMat I hear ya man. I actually am riding this pintail but may end up getting the apex when they go back into production. In short it comes down to you, and it may not always be an easy decision. I love this pintail, but i really want the apex. I have riddin both and love them both. The pintail is an awesome freestyle/carving board and but original's pintails are basically a whole quiver in one ...freestyle riding maybe not SO much, but possible. What type of riding do YOU wanna do?
@idothefish Im going for some cruising, carving, downhill, sliding kind of thing (pretty much all around performance).. im not that much into freestyle although i do like landing shovits and boneless... I also dont know if i should get S8 or S10 trucks, and what wheels to get... Thanks for the help dude !
@TriforceMat Dude ..pintail is for you man. I would honestly recommmend at least red spring if you are up to 180, any bigger and i'd say go white. the flexibility is still there with whites!! Also for wheels, OTANG all the way man. I love them. If you are going mostly downhill, look into a softer wheel ..Orange In Heats? I have the purple Otang in Heat and they are slightly more slidey. Depending on your experience and height as well as how much downhill, chose your trucks.
@idothefish Ohhh man, new dilema bro : pintail 43 or custom 35? The pintail looks sooo fun but the custom 35 rly looks like it can SHRED! Any opinions, suggestions and such ?
@TriforceMat I owned the c-35 and it there was a custruction issue. They no longer are selling it untill this issue is resolved. It was a sick board, but theres just no nose and it was very squirrely! I am actually kind of happy the way things woked out. the 43 does not feel like its that long..the way it moves.
@idothefish Yeah.. im still hesitating between the pintail 43 and the apex 37 they are both great boards... Im thinking the main difference between the two would be the downhill and the freestyle performance : Apex is a better freestyle board and pintail is a better downhill board... Right ? :P Does the apex get speed wobbles at high speed ?
@Rehabveteran1 True. The pintail series offers a much more versitile baord when it comes down to it though. they are calling it the workhorse of their quiver for a reason!
Dude, thanks a lot for the video, I end up buying the pintail 43 because of your video, you should make a video with u riding it! anyways, thanks a lot dude...i just have a question, do you know any website/good brand that I can buy those gloves with pads to slide? i think is called slider gloves or so, u know what i mean right? anyway, thanks
I have Paris 195mm trucks on my pintail 40 and I have to say that it's the best setup ever, with Atobe 76mm 78a wheels; it works awesome, it brings me a lot of balance on pushings and downhills, thing that original trucks doesn't

I live in an area with flatland/small hills (Urban) type area. Im thinking about this board or the Pintail 37. Witch would you recommend?
MopHeadBand 1 year ago
@MopHeadBand depends on your height, weight and ability, pintail 37 is a tight little board, the 43 fairly husky. if you can't decide, go for the 40!
idothefish 1 year ago
im getting the pintial 43 with s8's and purple stimulus. should i stay with black springs or go tighter if i watn good all around feel?
doubleGNARflip360 1 year ago
@doubleGNARflip360 what is your weight? i wouldn't advise tightening the blacks too much, but the reds can be smooth and tight. ..that's what she said.
idothefish 1 year ago
@doubleGNARflip360 I prefer reds, but you can do whatever you seem best

hey nice i ordered mine, and im waiting for it maybe coming in the next 2 weeks or so, and i was wondering i got everything standard except the wheels i got in heats, but im 5'10 and 189 pounds, do i have to get bigger trucks?
livelyhero 1 year ago
@livelyhero dude you'll be fine! let me know how you work out!
idothefish 1 year ago
hey i was at quiksilver the other day and i decided that i was going to get a sector 9 board because it would be cheaper. Well i havent decided which one to get, what would you reccomend and do you know if it would be compatible with original trucks if not thats ok but that would be a bonus if it is thanks!
polarisguy97 1 year ago
@polarisguy97 The price difference may not be that big man. A decent sector costs about 165, and even then the quality of them are not up to par with Original. the pintail is like 180 i believe, and buying a complete from original is much more cost efficient than buying original trucks and a sector board. I am not positive about the compatibility because of the trucks range, it didn't work on my girlfirend's teahpoo or friend ala moana. Also orig has lifetime mech warranty and 6 months deck!

Hey man great vid! I'm 220 lbs, right now I have black springs. Would white springs in my S6's on my Hybrid 35 be too stiff or should I go with reds?
vicious274 1 year ago
@vicious274 I am about the same weight and use whites. I have ridden all of their springs and always all of their boards ..Its kinda up to how you ride. I use whites because the weight recommendation is for the whites, but also because I can have them tightened for control on big hills or a little looser for deep carves and flatland. If you tighten blacks or reds too much you can break your wave cams easier. There is a difference, but not that much man.
idothefish 1 year ago
@idothefish Thanks for the info!

hey im 220 lbs. will it be stiff enough for me?????

hi dude i bort a pintail 43 ,s8 , with in heats but i am thinking about geting s10 what do u think
TheDauid 1 year ago
@TheDauid i have that set-up with s10s. it really is up to you and what type of riding you will be doing. if you are heavier, taller, ad downhillier, s10s. BE forewarned that you have to push wide though or else you will run over your heals! XD
idothefish 1 year ago
how much do you weigh? I think thats what im worried about
TheAshleylynne420 1 year ago
@TheAshleylynne420 i weigh about 200 big ones. Its a solid board if you are concerned about breakage. I doubt it would under anything under 350. if you are lighter and want more flex, check the 40!
idothefish 1 year ago
@metseranen0304 Flatland slides especially at a slower speed will loose speed quicker. Downhill riding and sliding will give you a more effective slide with less speed reduction, but that doesn't mean you need to dive right into the deep end. I would try getting some speed flatland or on a small hill, and use the balls of your back foot close the the inside edge, positioned farther back, and whip it out. Keep your shoulders parallel to your board, ALWAYS. Try backside first, tends to be easier.
idothefish 1 year ago
does it come with spring loaded trucks
Forestfire1902 1 year ago
i weigh about 170-180 do you think there might be too much flex also which spring-truck combo would be good for riding on the flats
polarisguy97 1 year ago
@polarisguy97 Dude there is not that much flex so flatland riding is awesome. You will be cross-stepping and carving deep and low with ease. I would recommend red springs on some s8s if you are going to be doing some flatland. Also Look into some nice wheels so you can get the most out of the streets. I prefer Retros or O-tangs!

@idothefish what wheels do you have?

Whats it like for sliding?
Rehabveteran1 1 year ago
@Rehabveteran1 it is very nice. you can whip it around easily. controlling it may be a little harder because of its lenght, but honestly, if you have never slided before, this board is amazing to learn on. plus for advanced riders it is a dream.
idothefish 1 year ago
Do you ever get wheel bite with the 75mm wheels?
mw2monster427 1 year ago
@mw2monster427 no no no. All of the orignal boards and their stock setups and upgraded hanger sizes are designed so you will never get wheel bite. whether is it a riser, graphed slips, ANYTHING ...you will not get wheel bite ..unless you throw s6s on a bigass board.

Im in a big dilema : Apex 37 or Pintail ? :S
TriforceMat 1 year ago
@TriforceMat I hear ya man. I actually am riding this pintail but may end up getting the apex when they go back into production. In short it comes down to you, and it may not always be an easy decision. I love this pintail, but i really want the apex. I have riddin both and love them both. The pintail is an awesome freestyle/carving board and but original's pintails are basically a whole quiver in one ...freestyle riding maybe not SO much, but possible. What type of riding do YOU wanna do?
idothefish 1 year ago
@idothefish Im going for some cruising, carving, downhill, sliding kind of thing (pretty much all around performance).. im not that much into freestyle although i do like landing shovits and boneless... I also dont know if i should get S8 or S10 trucks, and what wheels to get... Thanks for the help dude !
TriforceMat 1 year ago

TriforceMat 1 year ago
@TriforceMat I owned the c-35 and it there was a custruction issue. They no longer are selling it untill this issue is resolved. It was a sick board, but theres just no nose and it was very squirrely! I am actually kind of happy the way things woked out. the 43 does not feel like its that long..the way it moves.
idothefish 1 year ago
@idothefish Yeah.. im still hesitating between the pintail 43 and the apex 37 they are both great boards... Im thinking the main difference between the two would be the downhill and the freestyle performance : Apex is a better freestyle board and pintail is a better downhill board... Right ? :P Does the apex get speed wobbles at high speed ?
TriforceMat 1 year ago
If your in to alot of sliding and freestyle but still want to cruis and carve then i would go with the apex 37
Rehabveteran1 1 year ago
@Rehabveteran1 True. The pintail series offers a much more versitile baord when it comes down to it though. they are calling it the workhorse of their quiver for a reason!
idothefish 1 year ago
@Rehabveteran1 ive got the apex 37 and its great for all that, not so great for hills im getting the pintail 43 soon
