  • thats a nice rack

  • where do you buy TRX from in Australia!?!?!?!?!please help me ?

  • nice set

  • cool kit - 12" tom and floor toms sound awful though in this video

  • we tried telling them that and they continued to say it was abused, even though i only used it as it was told to be treated. He then stated (his words exactly) "I agree that no cymbal would crack like your son’s did, whether it’s 6 weeks, 6 months or 6 years, unless it is abused. Despite your past experiences I can tell you that cymbals do not break in the way your son’s did unless they are severely mistreated." I will put up pictures of the crack of the cymbal on my page so you can understand.

  • @MrDrummingmachine I strongly suggest Hammerax. I usually play Sabian (or whatever specific cymbal sounds good), but I've played a few Hammerax and was just blown away. They have a 4 year warranty on all of their cymbals, as far as I know. Extremely well made. Especially the liquicy series, which flex like crazy, so they don't crack.

  • This is for anyone out there wanting to buy trx cymbals, either intermediate expert or any other skill level drummers, i recommend NOT getting trx cymbals for many reasons, if your a hard hitter they crack VERY easily, ive experienced that with the 18" brt crash, a "heavy cymbals". I got this crash for Christmas just about 1 month ago and just recently cracked. We called trx about the it and send in pictures, they contacted us back by saying it was "abused" or "mistreated" but it was not at all!

  • I really want to know how he mounts his toms so nicely at the height of his snare drum, is it because he has a smaller bass drum (if so what size) or is it because he has smaller toms, I have tried a few things but it doesn't quite look the same, i would really just love a set up like cobus but i don't have the money to buy a kit like that, so it would be really helpful to know how to get a set up similar to that, Thanks :D

  • @LaVaBeAvErHD he mounts his snare higher so that the tom can fit nicely next to it with out the bass being in the way. he then compensates he height by raising his stool and the rest of the kit and ta daaaaa, COBUS KIT.... this is sooo good as it allows you to do crazy fills etc easier.... hope this helps

  • @MrMatt4647 Cheers for someone actually replying :D

  • A Bajillion people.. Just shows how popular u are :D

  • Cobus, I want your shirt! NOTW <3

  • I don't know about you guys but I think that the volume on the cymbals, hihat and stuff, is kind of low? But the kit seems to be really cool! :) Cheers!

  • @MrMarcuuuss it's because of the mics, most people decrease the volume on their cymbals.

  • I wounder if he ever hit one of his mics 0_o

  • @0001everyone1000 yeah he actually did in one of his covers from the fuego series. i think it was the braai song. lol! =D

  • What about the ride cymbal!!

  • @LaVaBeAvErHD brt 20 inch ride

  • @asdfcrow cheers

  • @LaVaBeAvErHD yeah you´re right!

  • @rehuxado he is a huge inspiration to loads of people :D

  • The kit sounds awesome man!!! really eargasma XD

  • anyone else notice the fly buzzing around his face at the one minute mark.

  • does anyone know what those squares are in the toms?

  • @BlobsofClay They're the information about the kit.Watch the DW factory tour and you'll understand

  • Cobus, can we please just hang out please?! Just...show me how to boss the drums like you. please.

  • DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO PLAY 5/4 ??? I INVENTED THE RHYTHM BUT NEED SOME MORE ! COBUS HEEEEEEEEEEEELP MEEEEEEE !

  • @RaGeInsomniac 5/4 just means that you are playing 5 beats in one measure and a qaurter note gets 1 beat (5 quarter notes per measure). In common time (4/4) you would count 4 beats and then a new measure would start. in 5/4 you count to 5. for example if you do a basic 1 measure 16th note fill in 4/4 time, you would count 1-e-&-a, 2-e-&-a, 3-e-&-a, 4-e-&-a. If you want to do a 1 measure 16th note fill in 5/4 you would count: 1-e-&-a, 2-e-&-a, 3-e-&-a, 4-e-&-a, 5-e-&-a.

  • @1stpersonshooter Yeah but i meant to somebody show me some beats on 5/4... I know how to count notes ... Thanks anyway ;)

  • @RaGeInsomniac Ahh sorry bout that. In that case, look up the drumlessonscom page. They have plenty of stuff on odd meter beats as well as pretty much anything else you can think of.

  • That snare sounds BEUTIFUL!! And that TRX Stack is awsome!!:D

  • Anyone help me out with the little lick he does at 3:38 - 3:42 between the hihat and stack/splash. I just need the sticking pattern.. No worries if not. I can try figure it out.

  • Does he use the EVANS EC2S/SST for his floor toms?

  • He is the only person besides me who puts their bell on the china. Idk why people dont do that more.

  • It seems that you forgot the Ride Cobus :)

  • Hey Cobus, if you don't mind but what drum heads are you using in this video?? Thanks, bro.

  • It is just me or did he missed the ride??? I guess he missed the ride :D

Whatever, cobus still is the best drummer in youtube!

  • @mrdoofdoofhead

Its because he is endorsed by Dw and he has to play what they give him

Dw wants to push the performance series

But I personally rather get a used collectors for about $2000 then get a new performance that's my opinion

  • Why did u get a Performance instead of a Collectors? U deserve a high end kit!!

  • @MrDoofDoofHead think of it this way, the performance series are like the collectors, just more affordable and in the public market, but less customized. maybe this kit is his personal preference. the performance and collectors are equal in my opinion, but i rather get the performance for the price.

  • @MrDoofDoofHead The sound of the Collectors and Performance is the same. Both are high end kit`s. But because the performance series is NOT a custom kit it is more aforteble.

The only big difference is the finnish and the sizes. Performance is only the regular sizes and finnishes and the collectors series are what ever you want ;)

  • Cobus, did I spy some Tony Royster licks in there!?

  • 4:33 eu amo aquela elevada

    e muito massa

    ROCK NA VEIA E DEUS NO CORAÇÃO =}

  • What heads are you using??

  • I'm the drummer of a band named Explicit Bombers and we're going to be played on 101.9 Wednesday, December 21st and I'd be so happy if anyone of you reading this would either tune into 101.9 on the radio or listen in at 1019foxfm(dot)com at 6:30 and hear an interview of my band as well as two of our songs from our upcoming debut album entitled "The End of the World". We're 17 years old and if you would please go listen on Wednesday it's be much appreciated!

  • Wooow....this guy uses pretty cheap mics and it sounds awesome as hell!!!!!

how did you get that sound??? can you please make a video how to mix your drum set!!!!

  • Just for those wondering, his heads are as follows...

Snare: Most likely Remo Controlled Sounded Coated (Reverse Dot)

Rack Toms: Evans Genera G2 Clear

    Floor Toms: Evans EC2 Clear

Bass Drum: Not exactly sure. I would assume an Evans EMAD or something of the such.

  • @SolidSnake1162 thanks :) Just wanted to ask it.

  • 5:32 : Yep, I'm awesome.

  • People have been asking about the cost - I recently bought the same set in Cherry Red stain. Without the side snare and additional floor Tom it cost £1600 but the price has just gone up to £1800. The additional snare is another £250 and the floor around £350. So the shell pack on it's own will set you back around £2400. Also there is a 5 - 6 month wait due to the backlog of orders. Order it now and it might arrive in time for the Summer ;).

  • Can someone tell me what heads are on these? Clearly Evans but what are the batters on the snare, toms and floor?

  • id love to have dat kit :)

  • He did not touch his side snare in this video at all

  • a gillian? thats a lot of people...

  • 2:15 for 'ten ya ten inch hats' xD

  • cobus please awnser this WHEN I THE NEW SERIES COMING OUT lol ive been waiting and waiting im so excited and what sticks do you use

  • Cobus if you could please answer me on this, the only sites I know to be able to purchase trx cymbals is yours, how come the cymbals got taken down? If their is another site to purchase trx cymbals from could you let me know?

  • sexedification you show me your drumming videos that are better then cobus then you can write those comments loser

  • do you recommend the 16 and 18 crashes to intermediate drummers who hit hard? (honest opinion)

  • does anybody now how eric moore tune his snare? i've been wanting to know for months! i saw some vids of him and the snare sounds amazing! cobus was the one who introduced me to him. btw, cobus' snare sounds epic! but i also want to hear his side snare, cuz i never heard what a ec snare head w/o a dot.

  • id like to hav a 1/2 hour to play cobus's new kit

  • sounds sooo sweeet!

  • have you ever hit one of the microphones?

  • those sounds phenomenal, props cobus

  • What headphones do you use?

  • Comment removed

  • I never understood the fasination with DW Drums.... I can never get the toms to project well without mics so that told me something.... To get a new kit. I sold my collectors and nought a custom OPDC kit. Love it to death!!!

  • a BEGILLION people!!! 0:

  • whats skins do you use?

  • @aaronmutd Evans G2 Clears...they look like i think.

  • My bithday is in July

  • @Lugeek Mines is the 24th of July

  • @musiecs cool mine is the 3rd of July, the day before th 4th of July :)

  • @Lugeek MINE TOO.

  • @blueburnsred oh cool :)

  • Does anyone know what tom heads he uses?

  • and the sticks you used? what are those?

  • @rizki7aul i think he uses Vic Firth 5Bs

  • Hey ive got a sonor kit with 12x8 and 13x10 toms and a 22x20 bass drum. Would i be able to switch from bass drum mounted toms to stand mounted? please answer thanks :)

  • @SJBBDrums yeah that's easy. either you can buy a little clamp and clamp it onto your cymbal stands or buy some snare stands and just have them freestanding. if you clamp it on to your cymbals, make sure the stands are very sturdy, the toms can be pretty heavy when beaten lol.

  • HOW MUCH DOES THIS COST ANYONE :)

  • more side snare!

  • ABAGILYON PEPUL

  • This guy just makes me wanna play drums ALL THE TIME!!

  • @BensDrumVideos

This guy makes me wanna buy a DW kit.

  • ride????

  • Buy a rack an all your troubles will disappear like a fart in the wind.. Peeeuuuuu :)

  • You are GOD. man! :D

    Keep it up ;)

After Portnoy, its your number B|

  • God bless you Cobus!!!

  • what evans heads do you use?

  • what evans heads do you use?

  • cobus ! you forgot your stick ! hehe ! what stick did u use? :)

  • So how much money would this kit be total? Im guessing around 3000-4000?

  • i really want to know a good drum set that I could get for christmas. I'm 15 and I've always wanted to play the drums. Cobus, what is a good starting kit?

  • @ThePaleShadow62096 You can always start with the Mapex Tornado with the ZIldjian Planet Z. Decent sound and requires less tuning. If you can afford a Tama . PLEASE do so. Check their website out for great drums. And always you can go for a second hand kit and then once your comfortable with moving around and stuff switch to a quality kit :) Hope that helped. :)

  • @binjudiveek thanks a lot mate

  • @ThePaleShadow62096 This isn't Cobus' channel, haha. Mapex and Sonor both make great quality lower end stuff. You do NOT want to be cheap on cymbals though. A low end drum can be tuned well, a shit cymbal will always sound shit.

  • 4:28 was the best part :) !

  • How do you ever get off that set?

  • Can you please tell me to set up the toms above the Kick drum? Are you using an independent stand for them? Or at least one for the small tom?I really have trouble reaching my toms if I set the kick on the right angle for my very long legs. My toms are MILES away from my snare. I dream of setting them just like you.

  • @einardrumming My Kick drum has holes to set up the toms on top with makes them too skewed to the right.

  • Youre GOD on Drums :o *_______________* !!!

  • y trx?

  • WOW THIS KIT IS BEAUTIFUL :) ONE QUESTION: HOW much does it cost :D:D:D:D ( i hope my english is ok :D )

  • @PRODrummerTM since he is endorsed by DW im sure he got the drums and hardware for free. Here are some approximate prices. DW Performance Series Drum Set: around $2,165 USD. normally around $1,800 USD but he does have two snares. DW 9000 series hardware (pedals, booms, clamps, rack): alot. I'm guessing around $1,500. so, thats $3,665 USD just for the drums and hardware

  • One more thing. Explain the drumheads you use. Aha. Job well done though.

  • 5:32 EPIC APPLAUSE

  • The New rock band and guitar hero difficulties should be

    Beginner

    Easy

    Medium

    Hard

    Expert

    Veteran

    Godly

    Cobus

    Thumbs up if you agree!

  • @Green34Destiny9 he is south African

  • What's Cobus' ethnicity?

  • bass drum roll? 4:33

  • hearing the bell in this vid seems different as i just compared it to the tony royster vid. probably the eq from the overheads effects the sound

  • This is by FAR your best mix yet.

  • Hey cobus, what kind of heads do you use, and did you use during the Cobus Method shooting?

  • @robertmickomasa Evans G2 Coated on the top and Evans G1 clear on the bottom.

  • @BrightenHite thanks

  • on the cymbal stack, do you have to custom make those or can you buy them?

  • got it disregard prev stupid question

  • Hey, Cobus do a favor for old dudes please list the equipment or a linky thanks.

And for a new student what is diff splash/crash and china?????

    God Bless you always

  • @mpilotsdf chinas are inverted and make a more trashy sound, splashes/crashes create a more lively and clean sound

  • @moleboythedrummer100 Thank you sir

  • What heads are they ???

  • Please bathe you a fly on the second 00:59 xD

  • I love your accent! (Fully homo)

  • when you go through the first two toms, it sounds like you're saying "rectum" i couldn't help but notice. ;D

  • nice kit

  • If for some reason you never, ever, ever, want that drum set, I'd be glad to take it off your hands ;)

  • Hey dude just a question with ur two high hats is the one on the right connected to the left? i just noticed they both go up at the same time??

  • thums up if you lold when he sead bajilon

  • You could say hello before you just start talking

  • @farty555 That was the worst comment I've ever read...

  • How do you to that crazy fill thing at 5:12? I've seen multiple people do it but I can't figure it out. By the way, I'm so envious of your kit.

  • @heythisbemyusername by moving his hands and hes awesome :)

  • The New Equipment Sounding Beatiful, Is Much Better When You Udrum Drumkit.

  • It sowndz freiking aowsom!

  • There is something a little smug about this guy.

  • and i remember watching you back there 2008, i think in your room, with that old kit of yours and PST cymbals, one sabian crash, mics from a friend and two cameras...

i'm really happy to see you all the way here :)

    congratz

  • cause DW is the best

  • i love it when he says the word "FREAKING AWESOME"

  • wat stix do u use

  • Lovin' that stack, huh?

  • what's this blue thing inside of the 10" rack tom?

  • @VersaillesYuki DW puts it on the inside of all their toms. it's pretty much the note that the shell produces and other stuff about hte drum

  • You should TOTALLY have your own custom snare!

  • what stickes r u using

  • u said it was 12 x 10 tom but on details it says 12 x 9

  • omw I absolutely love the icon stack, i wonder if it would work with any other manufactured/sized cymbals

  • Nice drumset, I have a question that I hope you read: Your cymbals TRX which would be equivalent MEINL? in my country do not sell TRX. Thank you bro!

  • Hi, cobus

Can you tell me what program do you use to smooth video with audio.

I try to do it with widows movie maker but when the video start it loks good but after 25-30 video and audio go in difrend ways, audio in own and video to in own way can you help me?

    Sorry for my bad english!?

  • DW did an AMAZING job with these shells. I just bought a performance series kit this summer, and I will keep it for a very long time. The sound is unique and incredibly high end for the price. Hey, if you want a "custom" set, then spend a couple more thousand dollars!

  • You haven't talked about your heads, what are they ?

  • cobus, can i ask? why performance over collectors?

  • @mathewcolfardrums price i would imagine. Performance series is essentially collectors without the custom options..still great DW quality!!

  • so you are

    not playin udrum anymore?

  • this battery has a perfect sound....may name is Esmeraldo flw..

  • Wow. Those toms.. Absolutely outstanding sound. Kudos to you for making the switch to DW. Also, I've never really thought much of TRX until recently while watching your videos. They really do sound great.. All I need now is the thousands of dollars necessary to get this stuff!

  • 21" BRT

  • hey cobus you forgot your ride!!

  • that snare sounds amaazingg

  • @cobus are you thinking about using the icon medium crashes, dude?

  • you forgot to mention your ride cymbal!

  • hi any chance you could be a drummer in my band please !!!!! lol !!!!!! nice kit dude !!!!!!!

  • I'll do you a favour and take your old kit off your hands :)

  • out of curiosity, how come no drum dials are used?? arent they very accurate and consistent??

  • you forgot the ride! also how much does a T bell cost? i assume quite a lot

  • Comment removed

  • What headphones do you currently use for covers? This kit looks flippen amazing!!

  • wow. . awesome....???
