@wogolfer I dont know what you're talking about, because if you look at about 3:00 you can see Newman try and go up the track to get away, but Edwards car starts flying that way, besides he's going about 190 miles an hour, that means he goes 30 yards in a couple hundreths of a second. This wreck was bad. Not saying it wasnt. But if you watch closely the car had started to come back down when Newman had nowhere to go but under neath Edwards and when they hit thats when Edwards launched in to the fence. If Newman wasnt there Edwards would have just hit the wall and probably crashe more cars. Im not sayint this is Newmans fault at all.

no all flaps do is change the resistance and help stop the car.....Whats cars have are "alectons" (the same thing on airplaines) the only diffrence is that the "alectons" are put backwars on cars (only race cars) to keep them on the ground.

I admire Edwards for running across the finish line even if it didn't count, but as far as restrictor plates go, he needs to quit being a bitch, restrictor plates keep it fair and make sure the team with the most money doesn't win all the time, and when everyone is bunched together is the best racing, and not just from a fans point of view, i race sprint cars....even in a car single file racing where you cant catch the person in front of you is no fun at all.

I was here. Live right down the road and this was my 11th race in a row to go to. I have to say that your video was the best I have seen of this wreck. It actually brought tears to my eyes. KNowing alot of the staff at the track as well as the hospital where the injured fans were taken- it brought it all back to me. Thanks for sharing. I am a Bobby Labonte fan but pull for Carl Edwards secondly. I thank God every time I see this that he wasn't hurt.

With the yellow line rule. Its a no win situation. They put that rule in place after Dale Sr's death. Then this happens when Brad K stays above the yellow line. Brad K was holding his line and Carl Edwards can even look at it from Brad K's prospective and be understanding. Carl tried to block, he thought he was clear. Glad everyone is O.K. . The Edwards wreck was so similar to Bobby Allison's wreck. In fact it looked like the same spot where Allison hit.
