  • I'm 32, I heard these guys non-stop in high school but am just now seeing them for the first time. Homeboy creeps me out a little.

  • 411 VM. Bons tempos... que saudades...

  • this songs reminds me of when i was in love with Larisa Oleynik

  • YO CAN`T GET MUSIC LIKES THIS .. IN THIS DAYS.. (=

  • Now THIS is superlative songwriting. So many years have passed, and it still gives me goosebumps. Moving song

  • Wow, I just found this song in a old CD collection I was importing to my Mac....GOD I MISS MUSIC LIKE THIS!!!

  • Awesome tune. I made a mix CD for an gf once. Actually, I've made mix CDs for girls who weren't even my gf. Sometimes, u can slip in a few songs you'd like her to hear amongst the ones she wants to hear. Sometimes they pick up on it, sometimes not. Hehehehe. ;^)

  • touch the soul

    !

  • i saw them at the town pump back in the day, got to meet them and got the drummers autograph. i was so nervous though and didnt say much :(

  • Criminally under-rated band. These guys should be millionaires, not the shit that Simon Cowell keeps churning out.

  • old tapes, long-distance relationships, letters... back then it was easy to believe that two souls could fight loneliness by listening to the same heartaching songs... and distance just hurt like hell.

  • excelente tema ...buena banda

  • already im 26... i heard this when i'm 20...and still rocks!! i related this with some thing how had happened to me at those days.... =)

  • I'm sure these guys wish it was still the 90s as well.. haha.. Where are they now?

  • i love the end part, its kinda like that floating feeling of being in love,,,lol im such a hopeless romantic :(

  • why dont more people make 'mixed tapes' for each other? i think it's one of the most romantic things in the world!

  • @Redbirdgirl88 I'm going to totally agree with you on that. I love to mix and match the music with all the associated emotions. It allows for a soaring feeling that can only be done with the mixing of songs. Sometimes, songs that would never be associated are and they sort of become a singular thing. To me, it speaks how love is the same way sometimes. At least the kind I want to believe.

  • @PortalMouth i know.. i just love the whole poetry of this song..I 've never had any boyfreind to be the type to do the whole mixed tape, thing, let alone compare us to romeo and juilet. ( ok, ok, thatll never happen, lol!) yet i would do so in a heart beat! Oh well. But yes, the whole song is so romantic and the end makes me melt. :)

  • @PortalMouth i know.. . i did make a mixed tape for an ex boyfreind once, but he was as far as romantic and musical as you could get and didnt seem to 'get it'.lol!Ok, so i'll never have someone referring us to romeo and juliet, lol, but this song is just so sweet..

  • Feeling Strangely Fine :)

Can remember the summer of '98 like it was yesterday.

    Better times.

  • neva seem to get board of this one

  • I cant figure out what the numbers on his shirt mean...

  • semisonic was the first band i ever liked at age 7

  • Ever notice how police constrict creativity in the name of alleged safety and order... just a thought from the last scene. No disrespect to them, just funny how society is...

  • Great song! Couldn't sing it to save my lif though... ha ha

  • The lead singer's falsetto is SO '90s... I miss that music scene.

  • i listened to this song while on Ecstasy 10years ago nice!

  • superb. this album rocks. sorely underrated.

  • still can listen to this song over and over xxx

  • LOVE this song, thank you

  • tq for uploading its been ages since i heard diz song..

  • After watching Daria for a couple of hours I got the urge to look up 90's songs. XD

  • what's with the numbers on his shirt? i thought it was times when he's supposed to be asleep, but they keep jumping forward and back in time!

  • Just a wild guess but this could be symbolical for "hearing her singing in his sleep" every night or at least multiple times instead of just one continuing night...

  • Not that I'm of such a persuasion but a quick google search led me to the bible quotation: 'That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, "Let us go over to the other side." ' Possibly a reference to the otherness of sleep...though I might be being tenuous .... stupendous song thogh.

  • i was listening to this on my discman,

man discmans were so cool back then, transporting music was revolutionary!

  • LOL! yes it was!!

  • haha yeah man i miss mine :( i might buy one for old times sake

  • I was 15 whan I first heard this ... and I'm 15 now, lol! But seriously, this is awesome! Today's music sucks ass compared to some of the stuff you guys listened to. I'm so jealous!

  • the whole album is good, if you get a chance.

    "Feeling Strangely Fine" (1998)

  • Ya I grew up listening to this and i'm 16 my brother always played it and bought me this Cd and I listened to it on my discman. Good album and good band

  • i totaly agree

  • haha first person youre age ive heard say that but yes i agree

music nowadays = shit! and that spans across nearly every genre to

  • gosh i was probably 13 when i heard this for the first time, now im 25...oh my god make time stop please! its insane how fast time flies, but how vivid the memories that come back when i hear this, this is like sensory overload, THANK YOU YOUTUBE for this shit!

  • i was 26, and that was a great time and space in my life. now i'm 37, and that's good too. and while i'm happy to be where i'm at, and life is good, and age and maturity have their own, different joy, let me tell ya, kiddo-- youth passes freakishly fast. live every second.

  • tell me about it, im 24 too, reminds of a long time ago

  • This is beyond epic!

  • Toll, toll, toll, toll, toll, ♥

  • brother pay me 20 *plus processing fees* and you got yourself a deal lmao

  • I'll do it for nine fifty. rofl.

  • I'll do it for 50 cents plus airfare to get to wherever the hell they are!

  • This music video is so goofy, but who cares It's awesome, and it's the 90's

  • LOL

    So you're a Christian

But a really shit selfish one?

  • Shit, meant to thumbs up.

  • Excuse me?

  • they brainwashed dick head stay out out church (your cult) and dont comment any more asshole

  • Wow, apparantly God didn't love you enough to give you compassion, so why should we listen to your post?

  • The 90s were the golden age of alternative music.

  • Why do Romeo and Juliet references always win me over? <3

  • Thank you SS!!

This is another one of my favorites!

    I need more 90s!!!!!!

  • my favourite song by my favourite american band

  • I had the privilege of seeing them play this live in NJ like 11 years ago, and the drummer blew my mind by playing keyboard and drums at once. If i remember correctly, they played a Prince cover afterward. Opening band? Harvey Danger. Awesome show? You bet.

  • whoa I just realized the number on his shirt changes.

  • God i miss the 90s!

  • me too!!!!! damn..

  • Con el segundo disco casi no me gustaron, en el video se me hacen chilas las camisetas con la hora jajaja

  • For some reason...your voice soothes me. I remember whn you softly sang to me in the car as I fell asleep. You don't know, but that meant a lot to me. The way you sang softly and what you sang.

    I love you,

    Kaley

  • one of the better songs on a great cd

  • wats a casette?nah im jiust fooolin!

  • El tipo de musica es Rock Pop Indie, esta es una de las bandas mas representativas del genero en los 90's

  • the basist of semisonic has/had his own band, which was like him on the cello, a guy on the zylaphone, and another on a piano.

wth is the name of that band???

  • The New Standards

  • cual es el nombre de la distorcion de esta cancion? y que estilo de musica es??

  • What a great intro.

  • Secret Smile is the best song

  • agreed! i like chemistry too. i had such a crush on dan wilson!

  • is this India Dykes?

  • not only the 90s music was really good, but also the music videos. :)

  • I love this song! Brings back memories. This and Closing Time are my favorites from Feeling Strangely Fine. Amazing songs. I miss good music. Where'd it go?!

  • I Luv the 90s

  • just a great, great song. And who can't relate to a mix tape? Some of these 90s bands like Semisonic, Third Eye Blind, Better Than Ezra, Buffalo Tom, etc, are criminally underexposed and unappreciated. Great bands and timeless music.

  • I remember seeing these guys perform live as they were supporting Texas on their Greatest hits tour in 2001 when they played the Manchester Evening News and they were alright and I preferred this song.

    Whatever happend to Semisonic?

  • They got out after their third album Chemistry, essentially bombed. By got out I don't mean broke up, they still play shows in the Minneapolis for their friends (from what I've read anyway). I assume they're to Minnesota what The Verve Pipe is to Michigan; a great band that put out a couple solid albums, wrote some excellent songs, and got out of the music industry as rock collapsed under the backlash from grunge and post-grunge in the late 90s.

  • oh wow the 90's hair

  • his mouth is off with the words

  • I saw these guys at summerfest in milwaukee they were closing set played closing time they were starting to go backstage I started sreaming at the top of my lungs ENCORE I had some friends with me they started yelling out too they came back on and did the ENCORE I was like yeah they did an encore for me it was the best and to the band if you see this thanks

  • Yeah after the encore they raped someone out of spite, i heard if was all your fault?

  • HAHAHAHA!!!

  • the guy with the glasses blond is the coolest

  • mr john lennon II XD

    he reminds me of john^^

  • woah... most bands would fuckin ram it up your butt that they wouldn't do the ENCORE when you put in in their face.

  • I saw them live a few times, and the drummer played the keyboard

  • who plays the keyboard?

  • You mean live? Either the bass player or a hired fourth person.

  • the drummer played the keyboards at live shows.

  • i see

  • someone bring back the 90s-just leave out the fashion.

  • and the grunge rock

  • semisonic should put out a new album, i'll buy it even if it sucks.

  • why does the number on his shirt keep changing?

  • I think the number on his shirt keeps changing... well I'm not really sure why. But I think it's like... Times like "4:35 AM"

  • Yeah, I saw 4:29, 4:23, and 4:30

  • it does

  • i saw these guys live in wolverhampton years ago just listening to these tracks again bring back a massive buzz of nostalgia missing the 90's music man

  • 90s to 2000 were the good musical days. shame music went downhill. guess video did kill the radio star :/

  • i know what your sayin but music videos were actually at their peek in the 80s

  • i can hear you singing to me in my sleep..... GOOD SONG, FOR A BETTER GROUP

  • beautiful♥

  • Great track from an excellent album.

  • great song love it love it!!!!!!!!!!!

  • pray the sound in my soul to keep

  • It's Sony, like the company that made tapes back in the day.

  • you mean the company that now makes all kinds of equipment including sound equipment LMAO

  • Dan Wilson looks like my grade school teacher..no offense meant...

    They're a good band.

    Oh those college days...

  • good vid and sound quality.

  • the time on his shirt changes a few times in the video, any significance to that?

  • Beautiful song. These guys are awesome.

  • I CAN HEAR YOU SINGING TO ME IN MY SLEEP

  • m kosto 1 mun2 enkontrar sta kancion!!! es muyyy buena!!

  • I the whole of feeling strangely fine, but this is the gem.

  • I love the song 'Making a plan' but cant find it anywhere :( its in the friends episode where phoebe tries to seduce chandler! anyone have? Singing to me in my sleep is a classic :)

  • *smiles*

  • 1998...the year my life seemed to come together...right before it all fell apart... Who was that girl with black cherry hair who drove the white car through the hills of OC California? Was it REALLY me? It all seems a lifetime ago!

  • so how did your fall apart ?

  • Let's just say I was a lot younger then and stupid enough to get mixed up with the wrong person. I ended up leaving the state.

  • Excellent song, from a good band. Are these guys still around?

  • john munson's hair amuses me.

  • agreed...

  • The singer seems to have a tuberculosis

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! So beautiful! I've never understood why everyone loves semisonic - secret smile! Closing Time and Singing In My Sleep are so much better! again, so many memories - even though I only vaguely remember this one and THOROUGHLY remember closing time! Video'n'all lol! can't help school trashers with - " she's popular " - could be anything- don't you have anymore lol! Wopps that was an essay lol xxxx

  • nada surf - popular ??? Wild guess....

  • I'm trying to find the band that made this song that kinda goes like..."she's popular". It was some alternative rock band that I heard during 1995 or 1996. So I was looking through Weezer's old videos, they weren't that band. So I looked in Semisonic...I haven't found the song yet but it might be possible it was them. Still searching. All I know is it came the same time Weezer's Buddy Holly video came out.

  • cool song
