  • Of course a P pump totally changes the engine. It ceases to become a Powerstroke diesel like everyone knows it as the fuel delivery is significantly altered...which is a HUGE part of the Powerstroke operation principle. It would be more accurate to call this a V8 Cummins. Nonetheless it represents an amazing truck with an amazing engine. No easy task to build this and make it work. I've seen it done on Duramax engines too. Again...losing the common rail injection totally changed that too.

  • A p pump is an injection pump airdogs and fass are lift pumps to get the fuel to the injection pump so it doesn't starve for fuel

  • what is a p-pump is there a website to find them at? i heard that they are better than fass fuel pump? are they only made for cummins or can you get them for powerstrokes?

  • no dusty do some research stroked out is a PSD. A 7.3 to be exact even the name is obvious "stroked" out. and you can do some mods to make a p-pump work on a 7.3

  • hey guys p pumps are for in line six cylinders. im betting that its got a p pump but thats because its got a cummins in it. powerstrokes turn the stack up on the drivers side of the hood.

  • the motor is a p-pumped 7.3 powerstroke(and yes, it is a powerstroke) its got a pump from an international dv800 8 cylinder diesel and the injectors came off off an 8.3l cummins.

    zimmer built the motor and designed it himself.

  • the downpipe on 7.3's and 6.0s is on the passenger side, how does the stack get over to the drivers side.

  • The aftermarket is catching of that the 7.3 is bad ass. with the introduction of the new stealth hpop we will see alot more 1000+ hp 7.3l. Maybe we'll see some different fuel setups as well ei, bolt on heads like double overtime. Hey Banks, if you build them we will come!

  • yeah is sucks that they offer just about nothing for us ford boys, but i have always been a very optimistic person. Hey I even saw replacement performance manifolds available now for the 7.3, whoda thunk it.

  • I have never bought banks because they offer nothing of real value for the PS. but you can't deny what they have done with that bi turbo dmax and some of their cummins stuff isn't to bad. If banks, wop, di or any of them made a common rail head for the 7.3, I would buy the first one. my ex would be an easy 800rwhp with dual cp3's. And if you think I know nothing about oil burners, look at my channel and then tell me that. I hand built the whole thing myself.

  • yeah but i doubt banks would ever make anything like that anyway, they're too busy trying to keep warrenties intact then make actual power

  • well if they don't then I'm lookin for a used 6.4 to stuff in there, Im sick of these dodge boys and their huge dyno numbers, just because of fuel.... which is a huge deal i guess because it makes or breaks hp and tq numbers. I just would rather not spend a year re wiring my truck to accept a smaller motor with questionable internals. Will someone please cast this head for us die hard 7.3 guys......

  • it's not the fuel that's the issue, we can supply enough fuel, but the injectors won't fire that fuel because of our HEUI system, which i've heard of 2 companies (elite was i think one of them... along with stealth automotive...) that claim they can supply the HPO that we need to hit over 1000hp, last spring i heard of some early testing with "promising results"

  • The real issue when it comes to strokers on the old HEUI systems is the damn electronics which theres some companies that are making a stand alone ecm and harness for PSD thats suppoesed to be making them just badass.

  • Well if you got a 7.3 then you want to talk to Jason username HotRodTractor he can give you all the details on it theres a waiting list for them but From what I have heard from him it's going to be putting the PSD to the next level. Anything else your going to be P Pumping a truck like this one or Double Overtime. Which Double Overtime has been killing the Cummins lately check him out also.

  • They are still the same heads from what I have heard Just one of Custom injectors. that fit into the sam whole Ive been trying to get ahol of ths guy to find everything out to do a p pump powerstroke for drag racing.

  • That doesn't have an hpop dummy. It's got a p-pump. It's so modified it's not even really a powerstroke anymore. NO HPOP!

  • I wasn't implying that, I was referencing the new hpops that are slowly being developed to overcome restrictions to fuel flow in the powerstrokes. the stealth is one of them, if you have a 7.3 their stage 3 will deliver much more oil and pressure than ever before made available. and I would love if banks or whoever would bring us some bolt on common rail heads so I could toss on dual cp3's and some redculous injectors. or heads like DOT's and the required equipment for timing the p-pump.

  • So what if its a p pump The reall thing that kills the PSD is the electronics You just can't tune them right don't want to supply fuel right over 4000 rpms Which he has tooken care of with the P Pump = No More Electronics. And if your going by the fact its modified all PSD and DM have weak rods and need billet ones when you want power does that not make them the motors when you replace the rods.

  • Sorry you don't know that the truck is a p-pumped 7.3L like the truck Double Overtime, which is the most powerful truck in sled pulling in the DHRA.

  • This is not a Cummins buddy. Thats a 7.3L Powerstroke... I know a lot about the power stroke and CAT engines.. Cummins has a different sound.
