beautiful piece and obviously some people cant tell the hindu and buddhist peace symbol from nazi symbol which that nazi's stole from hinduism and buddhism in the first place
Just love these Indian folk songs. I've never been to the "land of the veda" as it's popular to call it now. But Shiv Kumar Sharma is one of Indias best santoor players and the Western "hammered dulcimer" is simply a smaller version of the Indian original. All religions and cultures borrow from each other. It's amazing to hear with such clarity, how a master of this instrument can play 100 strings with only two wooden mallets. The piano has only 88 keys and each key has a mallet of it's own
As they say in America_ Whoa!_ my western friends! shreend here is not a Nazi! This symbol was used for thousands of years by Hindus and then Buddhist before the Nazi thugs came and claimed it in their warped version of history as kenzocop1 pointed out. The very word Swastika comes from the ancient Sanskrit word "svástika". Should Christians abandon the Cross because it was used as a symbol of opression in evil hands too? The rational answer is no.
@ziziva How can you guys manupulate things the way you want. We have been using this symbol for ages and we dnt have to change it bcz a mf used it as his symbol in the last century. Please refrain from using any such comment/statements on things related to someone's religion specialy when the culture is one of the most ancient culture on it.
I know the swastika is a sacred symbol in many eastern religions, but when it is rotated 45 degrees it is identical to the one used by the Nazis. beautiful song though. shiv kumar sharma is incredible.

I happen to be a serious santoor player and I do not see the logic of dicussing Nazi symbolism on the comment board of such a beautiful piece

you are right.
the question is, why he has choosen the same colours??? white , black, red.
there are lot of hindu colours,
especially historical desings, to avoid
this NS weapon and not to irritate others.
especially in the hindu tradition are hundrets of disigns beside the swastika.
the question, why he has choosen this sign, is correct.

HINDU SWASTIKA STARTS WITH LEFT TO RIGHT WHILE NAZI STARTS WITH RIGHT TO LEFT.

@darshak67 nazi swastik and hindu swastik is same. difference you see is due to wrong side of nazi flag.

i love this music- but that IS a Nazi symbol. you should change it. the hindu form of the symbol has lines parallel to the earth and sky.
ziziva 2 years ago 3
original this used to be a symbol for the rising sun with the ancestors of the germans, nazi's only abused the symbol 100's of years later
kenzocop1 2 years ago
