@iflyem3535 Hi! no, because it uses the real gyroscope in the iphone 4, it does not correct to level flight with the G forces of a pull up. You should try it out! I just released version 4.0 with major improvements!
How does it react to changing g-forces in turns? It would be nice to see more turns in a video. With a safety pilot on board, could you fly straight and level and turns under the hood, based on your software instrument?
It would be interesting to use this as a backup in my glider. I would not go into IMC on purpose, and entering IMC from below is unlikely (and I certainly wouldn't get my iPhone out then), but I can see a glider pilot getting trapped above cloud cover in wave.
Re: KypHem: I did fly from California to OshKosh Wisconsin for the Airshow one year. It took 2 days. You could in theory fly it in one day, but it would be exhausting. I usually fly about max 6 hours a day and then rest and stay overnight somewhere.
Re: Boeing: Ya, its getting more accurate all the time. I keep tweaking the code after i do test flights. Its not perfect yet for sure, but its getting better!
Hi, actually its not super expensive to fly, I bought the airplane used about 15 years ago, Then I got new paint, new interior and a new engine over time, so now its almost like brand new. You can get a used Cessna 172 today for 50-60K in good condition. Of course new airplanes are a lot more expensive, way more than I could afford!
Who will control the plane?

What happens when you increase g loading? Doesn't it start to indicate a correction to level flight as you increase back pressure?

By the way, MGL Avionics has a solid-state AI (I think), so provided the hardware is good enough, it should be possible in principle.
