Hey Brotha, I plan on a trip this summer/fall from Seattle, WA to Miami, FL down Cali and through the South on a 84' Honda Shadow 700. Was wondering what its like Coast to Coast on a "Cruiser-Type" Motorcycle. Also, is there anything you didn't pack that you wish you'd brought along? Did you use a gps? Thanks..
@Durdensvision Hey man thats awesome I'm headed out this summer again as well... its been to long. If you've never done this before it will change the way you look at life lol its great. Anyway it can be rough the rain is the worst thing. BUY A GOOD RAIN SUIT. I had a two peace rain suite and got soaked. I used just a map leave the gps at home and turn off the phone. Get a harley map that tells you all the bike laws from each state (helmet laws most important) GOOD LUCK
Agree fully on the 9:1 ratio of dirtbags to good folks, maybe even higher than that on the good to bad scale I think! Riding a bike puts you more in touch with everything around you including people.
good job guys. I know many people wishing they could have done something like that....but now they have a house, a wife, and excuses. do it while you can!!
@rowdy970 if you can handle it try to camp as much as possible get yourself some good tie down straps and hydroseal bags and ur good only cost me about 2000 bucks (that includes 3 major repairs) I just cooked my own shit and slept in a tent (except on rainy days) good luck man
