Nice comparison. I really like this video because it shows how the real facts are blurred, and how governments look for good excuses to do nothing about environment protection.
But the fact is that US companies are being allowed to remain inefficient merely because they can afford it. What's needed is for US companies to fall in line with the rest of the developed world, not find excuses to continue polluting the atmosphere.
Of course, the problem may sort itself out anyhow. The US motor industry is already collapsing under the weight of its own inefficiency.
Sadly, as clear and easy as this is to understand, i still wonder if the masses will get it. Most people who vote in the USA are scary stupid. You have the poor complaining about being broke, yet they are gonna vote for Obama or McCain that both say the will RAISE taxes and make sure energy prices rise by putting a carbon tax on everything.
So, lemme get this straight. You agree that emissions trading doesn't solve the problem of pollution, but you don't agree that people should be discouraged from pumping carbon dioxide into the atmosphere?
I dont believe in global warming at all. If power plants are putting pollution into the atmosphere that is harming for breathing, sue them, cause no one has a right to harm anyone. But this "green tax" or "Carbon emmisions tax" is nuts. Here is what you do, if you know something is harmful to breathing, get a petition to have a plant clean up or have the township file a lawsuit.
Global warming is a myth. the sun growing can cause that. Check out tesla's theories on that
Perhaps you can make clear to me, how many tons of CO2 are emitted by the vulcanos, geisers, warm waterwells, etc. around the world, everyday? Human contribution to that emissions is trivial. I believe, vulcanos etc should be prohibted;-) However, I like your vids. Hans
I'm not sure about actual tonnage, but since the Industrial Revolution, concentrations of greenhouse gases have increased from 280ppm to 380ppm, and the rate of increase has itself increased dramatically in line with the growth of industry -- up to a third of all GHGs in our air may be our fault. But there are many other reasons why we should cut back on pollution: sharp rises in incidents of respiratory disease may be due to atmospheric pollution in our cities, for example.
Good analogy and well illustrated point! Problems only get worse when there is something in place that makes people feel at ease and think that things are getting better, when in reality there is no change or the problem is growing.
This should make the issue more clear. It is presented in a language we can all understand! OH...I have some "Adultry" passes I would like to trade for a new computer!
The music in this sounds so familiar.
