In case you still haven't started: I actually found that The Fault in Our Stars was a book better appreciated with a break or two in between to mull over what had happened. I had a break in the middle, and even reading the remainder too fast felt like eating a delicious cake all in one sitting: wonderful, but I felt uncomfortably full afterward. FULL OF FEELINGS.
Ok please don't mark this as spam or whatever I'm just giving out information. If you preordered it and didn't get it signed, just email john at sparksflyup@gmail.com and give him your name, address, and place you ordered the book from (like Barns and Noble or amazon) and he will mail you a very cool and rare signed bookplate. But if you didn't preorder there's nothing you can do.
Yeah, I was pretty upset... I preordered the DAY it was available and got an unsigned copy. The shipping seems to have screwed people a lot. ]:
But, like others have said: check around town. My Target here in Orlando still had two signed ones last I checked [was three, but I bought one with an actual J-Scribble for myself...]
I opened this video, and my mum called me to come downstairs. I was like, "One minute!" and then I realized that it really would be a minute and I laughed.
If I recall, when books first started arriving unsigned, John put up a message and indicated that this book is actually on it's like 5th printing or something like that. I was shocked to hear it! Most of my local book stores are all out of signed copies now and they have unsigned ones for sale.
The entire first printing was signed. Stores didn't expect the amount of demand, so they ordered a lot after the fact, creating a rush for new editions. If you check your book, I bet you have a second or third.
Me and my nerdfighter friend both pre-ordered off Amazon and both got unsigned copies =\ Also in UK, so vidcon's not an option. I will say though, I read the book in a day and it's still such a phenomenal reading experience I didn't even care about the J scribble.
@eladps I got what you mean now. I know due to the way shipping works some preorders were unsigned and John wants people to e-mail him their information including where they preordered from. Eventually he will send a signed book plate after he works out the details.
@Confusionisastate I've heard that...thing is i wouldn't ask him to pay overseas shipping just because amazon failed...i din't blame him, he shouldn't be responsible as far as i can see. it just sucks is all.
@eladps I can understand that. That is why I exchanged my preorder for a signed copy. I know it bothers John that some people who preordered did not get a signed copy which is why he wants to fix it. It sucks either way and the sad part is that it's not John's fault at all since he signed enough. It just goes back to the way shipping works.
Mine has a J scribble. U jelly?

My Mrs pre-ordered it and got an unsigned copy too. Curse John's frail human hands!

Well it was only guaranteed signed if you pre-ordered it but stores like target still have signed copies. When did you order it?

@eladps I know. My preordered copy was unsigned and I went to Wal Mart in order to pick up a signed one. Unless I misunderstood your comment?
