  • blinking SES= multiple random misfires

  • im willing to bet the CEL was from a thrown map sensor code, for to much boost on stock map

  • Did not sound healthy AT ALL. Iron out your tune before you blow a hole in your piston from all that pre det

  • little misfiring goin on ?

  • Where you getting your info at andy? Import tuner?

  • 10psi on a stock motor isnt going to last long, but have fun with it while you can I guess.

  • Service engine light said "What the fuck bro, chill out!!!"

  • lt1 or ls1 both make similar power when modded, stock ls1s flow better so better high end. but at the end of the day they are similar

  • i got an L98 puttin 400hp to the ground wiff 500lbs torque @ 10psi boost. heavily modded tho......i can hang with the Z06.......

  • Automatic?

  • multiple random misfires, all to familiar with that flashing SES light.

  • did that flash up check engine soon light?

  • Why didnt it shift?

  • @treyownz1 i'd say it's an auto gearbox

  • i forget what the problem was with it but it runs great now. a couple more bolt ons and speed density tune. 120miles to the tack and went 10.80's @126

  • I think killing a catalytic is the least of his concerns... what makes you think he even has one after bolting on a turbo, and the new downpipe/exhaust to support it?

  • Turbo LS1 is a god. But its so funny, the American V8 comes into boost, and is like "What the hell is this shit?" Fucking freaks out and starts flashing the CEL. Haha

  • @infectrus The CEL is blinking because the engine is seeing horrible knock because the guys tune is probably fucking shitty... too much timing, too much fuel, something was causing it to knock... my turbo ls1 sounds a hell of a lot better (more smooth) and it doesnt have a CEL lol :)

  • FLASHING SES LIGHT=SUCKS

  • haha yea thats a type A malfunction. that flashing check engine light is a cylinder misfire and could cause damage to ur cat. get that checked out or ur car could go up in flames from overheating the cat to 1200 degrees fahrenheit lol.

  • actually it can also be from the stock map sensor seeing too much boost and not knowing what to do.

  • hahahaha you sound like a pep boys comercial

  • sounds like a boost leak

  • Even on 7 cylinders that's pretty slow for a turbo LS1. My buddies stock 97 pulled harder than that... Something not good is going on man, figure it out and post another vid when it's running right.

  • Never said it did, tool box. LS1s make a good bit more power than an LT1 stock for stock, so for a stock LT1 car to pull harder than an LS1 one car period there has to be something going wrong... Nice try on the insult though, douche.

  • @Racter125 im pretty sure that the lt1s had better torque numbers, all the vids iv seen stock for stock, the lt1s keep up with the ls1 or even ahead of the ls1 untill about 60 mph then the ls1 pulls on them.

  • @musicequalslife008 the ls1 has more horsepower and more torque the lt1 was a ironblock and the ls1 is a aluminum block the reason why u see vids of the lt1 keeping up with ls1's is custhey have mostley full bolt ons on all lt1s cus there older and its a v8 the only good part is that on a lt1 you can apply more boost stock then a ls1 cus of the iron block i own a lt1 and i can keep up with ls1's

  • shut up dick

  • i was on my way home on this run..it was from the intank fuel line that blows and i think a plug wire was burnt.. the tune is fine

  • flashing SES means a misfire...not a damaged cat.

  • a flashing ses light means its catalyst damaging. A damaged cat will result driving around like that.

  • You are right and wrong.

    1) You don't know anything about cars.

    2) misfire/incorrect a/f mixture/pinging/detonation all result in cat damage. Unburnt fuel landing on the catalyst then burning off is how a cat gets ruined. Now shut up about the light, I bet he knows.

  • How do I not know anything about cars when I'm right? Im not the one with 3 uploads with an engine noise they cant diag...maybe have on of your forums buddies help you diag it after some bench racing.

  • How nice of you to assume t he situation. The car had 192K miles, went 30k miles without an oil change. I bought it for 200 bucks and parted it out for a grand. It was a loose tooth on the water pump and if you knew shit about 300zx's you would know how difficult that engine bay is. Thanks!

  • ive owed 2 z32's actually. one turbo, one n/a. The engine bays are not that bad, Try working for Cadillac.

  • lol i fixed that problem on my camaro! i just ripped the peice of $hit cat off, and put some Loud mouths at the back behind the axel. (:

and btw, on the camaro the sensor is before the catalytic converter. so the engine knows no difference, besides more flow= need for larger intake and carb adjustment, or computer, if its FI.

  • @gittyupalice96 If you're talking about oxygen sensors, there is one before and one after each cat. The first one reads a/f ratio, and the second one verifies that the cat is working. The computer will know the difference and throw a code.

  • LOL flashing SES light does NOT mean his caty. is damaged. A flashing SES means its misfiring...

    Get a tune!

  • do you realize what happens when it misfires? raw fuel goes through the cats and destroys them. Obviously it is a misfire, thanks for your infinite wisdom. But the reason the ses light flashes is because its damaging the cats. All the extra fuel goes into the exhaust throws the air fuel ratio way off. The computer will think the car it way to rich and could cause it to lean out which will damage the motor..

Hope he has the problem fixed now.

  • bro you need a tune BADLY. your car sounds like shit! im not saying this in a bad way. it is clearly not running correctly spitting and sputter and acceleration on 10lbs is close to what a stock car will do. Your SES light is flashing because its telling you a catalytic converter damaging event is occuring. Meaning your air/fuel ratio is WAAAAAY off. get a tune and enjoy your new found power. what you have now is no faster then stock and you will ruin your motor sooner then later. trying to help
