I dont really think that boxing stance works in MMA(depending on opponent). I have some old boxers who come down to my mma gym and stand like this. They are exposing their legs to much so I can throw some really succesfull leg kicks. I also find it rather easy to go for a explosive double leg take down if the boxer backs off after the kick. Single leg takedowns are of course much easier too.

just picked up several boxing videos from an online m/a video rental company called goldstarvideo for 9.99 per video/ great deal. It took about 3 days for the videos to arrive but they were worth the wait. actually I wish now I would have bought the videos but money is a little tight.

yea id definatilty take stuff from the boxing style for offense but as far a defence goes they would get there ass handed 2 them in the cage, my personal fav. is MMA

boxing sucks,its so boring the only good part is the highlight ko and it takes like half hour for it to happen.I would like to see a boxer come to MMA and try to block a hit with the tiny gloves,it would make them feel like their in a real fight lol

I dont like boxing as a whole style, its not a good or complete fighting style, but I do respect it. I really like the boxing offensive moves, they are very strong and really good. Bruce Lee even did boxing, you can take any fighting style and take some great things from it, but there are some things that arnt so great about them. Every style in the world has good and bad things about them. Maby boxers dont have the best defence, but you probly dont want to take a punch in the face by one...

Well yeah, fighting and boxing are different. You can easily apply boxing to fighting, but like in MMA, it's different because people kick, grab, some people like to take you down, and outside the ring boxing leaves your groin open, and knees. Boxing is good at what they do, they punch and block punches, but for something with other fighters from Karate or MuayThai, they fight with their whole body, which makes it harder to defend if all you know is boxing, so they modified it.
