Whenever I think back at this series, it's always this episode that I remember with the most fondest. True I hate when characters are killed off halfway through the series, especialy if they're likeable characters, but the way they did it with Dinobot was truly the best way he could've gone.

Dinobot is another reason why Beast Machines is garbage. There were no characters in that show- with the exception possibly being Rattrap- that were nearly as special as him. Also they changed up all the original cast of Beast Wars that made it through into Beast Machines. Here's an idea for the real last Beast Machines episode: Dinobot comes back and beats the crap outta Bob Skir and his cronies, and then make Cybertron back to the way it was before Beast Machines.

0:30 was badass! I couldn't figure out though, was his transmetal-2 version cloned or was he reincarnated? Because in the series finale he seemed to have memories of his final acts as a Maximal.

@Kosyghin Well, if you note in "Bad Spark" he plugs himself into the Axalon's computer. Supposedly he is uploading a copy of himself. There was supposed to be an episode called "Dark Glass" where Rattrap discovers this copy and attempts to put it into the TM2 DB clone but Rampage's spark overpowers the copy, which is why he gets his old self back after Rampage dies. However that ep was deemed "too dark" and "Go With the Flow" was made instead.

@Kosyghin It's interesting to note though, that the TM2 clone has memories from AFTER the original DB uploaded a copy, such as memories of the valley and proto-humans just before his death, which has lead to some suspecting that DB's spark came back for a bit and fused with Rampage's half spark.

Dinobot II was all Predacon until Rampage was killed and the memories of the old Dinobot flooded into him.

Dinobot was the true essence of the warrior in Beast Wars. I remember He could have went in to stasis but he refused and when gave that blow to Megatron...anyway an episode later you can see the ancient Human he saved still weidling the weapon Dinobot used to save his life.God I miss him his loss is still emotional.

Near the end of the series, Megatron attempted to clone Dinobot. That's Dinobot2. I think shortly before he followed the original Dinobot's footsteps and turned on Megatron.

i know its a 3 month old post but he became transmetal when megatron first discovered rampage (protoform X), and spliced his "indestructible" spark and created the transmetal dinobot ...i've watched beast wars since it first aired and every year i re-watch the series atleast 2 or 3 times...one of the greatest cartoons ever...and dinobot just happens to be the best character in terms of development, backstory, and shaping the way the beast wars eventually turns out

Hey, have you guys noticed the animators make mistakes throughout the last part of the series. Sometimes Dinobot II's laser eye is on the left side while other times it's on the right. Also, sometimes Optimal Optimus' arm sheilds are on his shoulders when he transforms while other times there on his arms. And, sometimes, they're not there at all.

Watching "Code of Hero" actually made me cry. I felt like someone had taken a huge dagger or small sword, with a dull blade, and ripped through my chest with it. -salutes Cybertron's greatest warrior and hero- He was partially resurrected, the clone was nothing like the original.

He had no honor and acted more as a drone than himself. Even though Rattrap had found a way to download the original's personality and memories into the clone...it still wasn't the same. You just can't beat the original. At the end, when Nemesis sank into the ocean, I found myself hoping for the clone to surface on the beach. And perhaps even go into the Beast Machines show that came after Beast Wars.

What episode was that where Rattrap found a way to download the original Dinobot personality and memories into the clone. I never saw Rattrap react with that clone. If he had downloading anything, he would have been fighting with Rattrap.

It wasn't Rattrap downloading the original personality into the clone. Depthcharge destroying Rampage(which half of Rampage's indestructible spark was within Trans 2 Dinobot) made Dinobot whole again. Thus made Dinobot Trans 2's spark Dinobot's somehow, perhaps the clone DNA that was infused into the shell.
