  • Nice seeing the PG yard when it was still under BC Rail. I lived in PG from 2002-2005 and although I took several thousand shots in the surrounding areas, I never made it to the shops. You got yourself some great footage. I only wish now that I had a camcorder during my time there. I just sat back and watched the trains. Never thought of recording them...too bad. If I did it would be gold. Live and learn. Good work!

  • Cool! I'd be very interested to see a collection of your still photos too! (maybe even in a collection of them on youtube?)

Fortunately another friend of mine got me into taking video. Pictures taken of BC Rail can be spectacular, but I just had to capture the sounds and movements that this great railway had to offer - too bad I didn't start sooner though. Thanks again for your comments!

  • I just sorted through several thousand shots and separated "calendar" type shots from "catalogue shots. I need to figure what to do with the 000's of images I took during my time in PG and frequent trips to Dawson Creek. Most of the time I just sat and watched the train, as I always assumed BCR would be around forever. WRONG! Anyhow Azuetta (mile 591? -Chetwynd Sub) was my favourite up there. ONce I figure out what I am doing I will let you know. Regards!

  • Sounds good to me! Ya I only got as far north as Odell so anything north of there will be new to me!

  • Great video of a different time. Love those old Alcos!

  • Ya thanks!

I believe you are referring to that 'clicking' sound? I believe that's the air dryer on some units that shoots air to keep the air lines dry from freezing in the colder months?

  • Nice work documenting a unique look at the workings of a contemporary rail yard. What is the "arcing" sound at the end of the clip?

  • Right on man. How far back do your BC Rail vids go? Just 2002?

  • Hey thanks. Sadly, they only go as far as 2001. Didn't have a camcorder or the time to do it before then.
