  • bugs is just trying to play a different type solo here, instead of the standard stuff, just tryin to hit the note in a new way, its called improvising.. sure am glad everybody doesnt sound like SRV. SRV sure was good, but thass why we are all different. saw bugs up here in tulsa long time ago. he is a treat.

  • i got to disagree stevie ray smokes him

  • @mjdennis78 . I love them both and seen both live. Since you're 12 and NOT from Texas post some of your playing. We'll see if you can smoke anything. Bugs used my Rivera switcher when we both bought our amps in 1993 while I was working at Charley's. He's a legend and you can't compare him to anyone.

  • SWEET!

  • wow!

  • awesome

  • my father is the harp player here. yeah this may not be the best blues song, but its here for the harp. the audience loves it plus he trained under some of the best. Go dad. This is TEXAS blues.

  • absolutely the best ive ever heard!!!

  • Your Dad blows a mean, nasty harp. I dig his sound.

  • Excellent!!!

    Grandma mary

  • High quality raw blues. Nice solo, he knows how to play the guitar.

The critics may post some videocomments, lets see i you can play...

  • greetings mike and sara and nikki sue and all the old gang. old times at the house on dulse.from nick gibbs.you know who.

  • I love Bugs Henderson, but this is NOT Texas blues! I'm sorry whoever posted it as this, but we need a funky ass horn section here. Stereotypical blues, in my opinion. Seriously, I've heard enough Stevie Ray Wannabes when I lived in Austin. Whatever happened to Gospel and Blues?

  • @untacotres bugs is texas blues. he was in mouse and the traps,"a public execution" he was playing blues while stevie ray vaughan was crapping diapers. horns are part of texas blues

  • @untacotres bugs is texas blues. texas blues don't need horns. bugs was in mouse and the traps,"A PUBLIC EXECUTION". he was playing blues in the 50s while mr vaughan was crapping diapers

  • In my opinion, and keep in mind that this is just MY opinion, the PRS is not a good guitar for the Blues. It just sounds too refined.

  • I agree.

  • you can play anything on a PRS. Its a fuckin dream guitar. Clapton plays on strats with noiseless pickups, probably "too refined" by your standards but again its the soul and fingers, not the equipment

  • the rhythm player seems pretty good, but what the hell is going on with his lip?! looks like it could weigh five pounds. that lead player is awful, I honestly dont know how you guys can say hes good. its like hearing a bad singer trying to belt it out, almost painful

  • You obviously are not a student of blues guitar...and that is called a soul patch and is not the guy's lip. Go back to your video game.

  • I actually am as a matter of fact, but I'm more partial to musicians like the three kings, warren haynes, duane allman, derek trucks. you know, guys who can actually play guitar

  • Sorry, I had a few beers and spoke a little more gruffly than intended.

All the guys you mention know Bugs and would jump at the chance to play with him, and when they have played over 4 decades like he has they will be legends (except for Allman that is)

  • I am from Tyler and have been diggin bugs since I was a teen. Even saw him open for believe it or not Billy Thorpe at the Calldwell in the 80's. Keep jammin ya ole fossil! And if you run into Tim Wheeler out there tell him Spanky said duh huh... and he still owes me 10 bucks from the Ground Zero days. He'll know what I'm cryin for!!!!

  • Check out Bugs playing with Nitzinger at the 'Mar Y Sol' concert. Incredible Blues playing.

  • I think i'm gonnna go watch some SRV vids to restore my faith in the blues.

  • oops Bugs is the guitar player! First time I hear something, but heard a lot about him. Er, I hope it was just a day off. can happen

  • Budweiser day especially for the haired guitarist. Jazz YES JAZZ!

  • I wonder how many beers Bugs had had prior to playing this song. Hey, when you screw up or just play it bad, you can always call it JAZZ.

  • Bugs is a blues legend, amazing player

  • Anyone who has followed Bugs over the years knows his shows have varied from country influence to rock to blues. You can't judge him from one performance. Also, it's my opinion that when he plays with Kirby and Tommy he steps back a little and lets them shine.

  • If you play a lot better than Bugs please post your band's website so I can come to your gigs an learn from a real master.

  • Haha...I can talk for sure. I used to be Bug's guitar tech for a year back in 1976. I have been on the road with him through some shit. I love the man. He can still play the pants off the guitar. But this video was not one of his best performances. We all have bad nights. So be careful who you diss unless you can back it up.

  • Very bad playing here . He should have stayed at home .

  • Bugs was once a master....now he's totally gone.
