  • sweet!

  • I love the Junkies, but when I listen to them for too long, I get depressed. How does Margo stand it? I bet, in real life, she's the life of the part.

  • Margo Timmins is a genious. This is by far the best cover of this song. She´s just toooooo much!!!!

  • This is as tight as a band gets.

  • Astoundingly good. Wow.

  • T.I.N.A.

  • i think the mark of a good song writer, as George was, is that his songs sound great even when interpreted by other musicians. it's open enough to go in so many beautiful directions, without ever losing George's intent and vision. This is my favorite cover of this song by far.

  • @theonlydavepowers cowboy junkies are exquisite custodians of soul and taste. ...we are blessed to have them step in for their reading of this timeless song, penned by a (believe it or not) underrated author.

  • I'm hooked on this song today. Such fine musicians and soulful vocals.

  • Hey DreadedED, the lead guitar is actually being done on the mandolin. It is used throughout their show for all kinds of different sounds

  • Eles só precisam vim ao Brasil.

  • Love it. Thanks for posting

  • The lead guitar is not on camera --- why ?

  • @DreadedEd The lead is being played on the electric mandolin by jeff Bird.

  • this band is awsome. peter

  • I have to say that this version works better for me!

As Sweet Jane did many years ago!

  • The Galaxie 500 cover is so much better.

  • @stusafc37 don't think so , although it struck my mind - true

  • wonderful

  • Nice!

  • When theses guys cover a song, they enhance it.

  • most cover-versions are sick regurgitations but this is exceptionally beautiful.

  • Yeah...they're definitely great. It was a tremendous pleasure to be able to record them back in 2009 (at The Ark in Ann Arbor), but one of the coolest things was watching them work it all out during soundcheck...and getting a glimpse of what was to come. It really was a great show - my binaural recording (grab your headphones, kids!) is up on the live music archive if you want a 'you are there' experience. I think the link's in my profile here as well. If not, drop me a line.

  • It doesn't hurt that she's as gorgeous as the day the CJs first performed. I would give anything to sing like Margo.

  • Beautiful version of a great song.

  • Are there any more videos from this performance? The Junkies seem to have been in amazingly good form that night...

  • adore the junkies.

  • Beautiful cover, maybe the only one I've liked as much as the original. Thanks for posting.

  • Beautiful cover!

  • So lucky these cowboys came all the way over to Ireland

for a gig, one of the best shows I`ve ever experienced.

Thank`s so much for the post!!!

  • Margo's voice has it all...it's smokey, sultry, sexy, innocent, vulnerable, with just enough swagger and range to make her one of the great ones...like Elvis, Plant, Sinatra, Rodgers, Mercury, Barbara Streisand, Mahailia Jackson, Billy Holiday and more who aren't coming to mind right now because Margo is taking up that space right now! She is AWESOME too bad they don't do more from Pale Sun because that's there finest hour!

  • Cowboy Junkies are great...never seen this before, she is amazing.

  • WOW..This is GOOOOOOD!!!

  • She could fucking sing the help wanted ads and I'd buy it.

  • Wow Thank you so much for posting this

  • Margo looks like a angel

  • magic

  • God I want her...

  • Isn't it a pity we don't see much of the CJs on the road. Cool version of a classic George song from my youth.

  • Beautiful job. So simple and elegant.

  • find the galaxy 500 version: dynamite +1

  • Great song!! Thanks for posting this! If you love Harrison, gotta see "Concert for George". That's where I first heard this song. The Cowboy Junkies do this one justice. Nice.
