  • sounds just like my boy frank.

  • Haha there was a pic of Seattle in there!

  • Makes me wanna go to NYC!

  • New York New York

  • This song is great he can sing real nice

  • we play it in the school-orchestra - it sonds great (:

  • It's those funny lyrics that make this version great. The way it is edited now it's "just another version" of the song.

  • Version fort élégante de New york new york.

    Une voix intéressante.

  • heay gang check out my cover and tell me what u think please , i need some feed back...cheers!! and thanks

  • love it love it!!!!!

  • love it!!! well done

  • This is excellent! Check out James De Frances on my channel...people say he sounds like Steve Lawrence.

  • great!

  • Awesome!

  • Sinatra should sound this good!

  • i love this song

  • vive new york et tous ses habitants vive paris aussi

  • we're playing this sing for jazz band

  • LOL l live IN New York City , New York :D NY FTW!

    The Empire State :)

  • @Siphon15 wow! you must be so lucky to live in this wonderful country and this great city!

  • Where's the funny version where after the intro Steve starts singing "Chicago"?

  • Good question. I abridged the song to make it

similar to the version by Frank Sinatra.

I felt Steve sang those "funny lyrics" so as not to compete with the huge hit by his friend

    Frank Sinatra.

I wanted to see how the song sounded in

the Steve Lawrence style as compared to Frank

    Sinatra. Both are great versions.

  • the chairman of the broad frank sinatra verison was better than steve lawerence's

    verison

  • Didn't Steve record this years before Frank? Their voices sound similar.

  • Frank Sinatra recorded the song in 1979 for his LP TRILOGY, released in 1980. Steve Lawrence recorded the song in 1981 for his Lp TAKE IT ON HOME.

  • in band i am playin this song (first trumpet yo!!)

  • lol so am i

  • nice song..XD

    NY<33

  • Don't get me wrong, Steve is great, it's just that Frank was Frank, and no one will ever replace him.

  • Haymes buries them both!

  • What a magnificent voice. He is one of the best.

  • For my money,Steve Lawrence is more solid on the low notes than Sinatra is, and shows command of the required octave ranges better than Ole Blue Eyes. Please don't misinterpret me, I'm a huge Sinatra fan, but this song is no walk in the park to sing, and Steve Lawrence brings it all the way home with considered aplomb. Love it!

  • Not disagreeing with your observations, but Frank was up there in age when he started New York, New York.

  • new new york

  • this is so cool! im playin this in band :))

  • Steve has the best voice of them all!!!!!

  • Awesome Job, Steve...Blue Eyes would really be impressed with how you've interpreted one of his hits! I appreciate your singing so very much. I love you singing "Tell Her I Said Hello", "A Room Without Windows, and "Portrait of My Love"...and the music from the "Golden Rainbow" CD. You and Eydie are the best singing duo ever. You are both so incredibly talented and have voices smoother than velvet.

  • thanks or another great job! Steve Lawrence is the best!

  • He did this song pretty good. Not bad. No Sinatra but who is? Thanks for posting
