If you got a image or something of Muzzle flashes, you can do it with a effect named Luma-key. Search for Muzzle flash pictures on google. There are many tutorials here too.

Simple, those effects are Free to download from a webpage (damn i can't remember the name) but try finding it on google..it's cool and easy to use :-) - Daniel
