  • what's the difference if i use milk instead of cream?

  • I LOVE YOUR SHOW! I make this all the time, you make everything seems so easy.Going to try out the lemon cheese cake next :) and my prayers go out to your mom! :)

  • can you really freeze egg whites?

  • Your videos are making me hungry! :)

  • Love it!!! i'm gonna make it right away..... classic english food always fascinates me!!

  • Why you take the picture from so far distance?

  • @nayacorath This is one of my earliest videos, before I really knew what I was doing ;)

  • Do u put buttere on both sides of the bread?

  • @BUNNYLOVA23 No, just butter one side. If you butter both sides, it makes it harder for the egg mixture to soak into the bread. Arrange the bread butter side up ;)

  • ooooh... looks like the ultimate comfort food.. gotta try this soon ;)

  • Comment removed

  • dont give more butter to this bread

  • you rock chef :-)

  • I'm still watching this after 4 years since it's release date :D

  • saddly this is an old video of yours so its not very clear on the plate as it is in your newest videos .. thank u for the great recipies

  • 7 PEOPLE FUCK UP THEIR BREAD AND BUTTER PUDDING. XD

  • Try with Panettone or Brioche instead of Bread

Spread apricot jam with the butter

Throw some Grand Marnier in to the custard

Sprinkle with Raw Sugar before throwing it in the oven

It should still be slightly wet when you take it out as it will continue to cook under its own heat.

    Add Strawberries

Sprinkle with icing sugar or Flambe with more Grand Marnier at the table

Serve with Vanilla and Rum and Raisin Ice Cream

  • could we replace the cream with milk or would it just ruin it?...what can we replace with the sultanas?

  • @Rokittyables You can use milk instead, but the final result will be less rich and slightly moister. Replace the sultanas with any dried fruit ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow thanks...!

  • @OnePotChefShow

you could just experiment with it

  • @Rokittyables i've tried making bread and butter pudding with chocolate chips, it was really good! :)

  • could we replace the cream with milk or would that just ruin it?

  • oh NOOOOO! I did NOT watch this! and I did not make a pan full AND I DID NOT eat it all!!! no no no!!!! this is a sinful recipe! I am damned. I did make it with real butter tho..

    why not use the best?

  • Thank you most kindly. :) As a piece of constructive criticism, might I suggest that you say in you vid clips which scale you're referring to, it really helps a lot. Keep em coming though they're GREAT

  • @crushed51 This is one of my earliest videos (made about 4 years ago) before I really knew what I was doing ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow yea but i still loved you lol,

  • What temperature scale do you use F or C ?. You didn't say in the video. In the UK we use C, but in the USA it's F. I suspect you're an ozzie and have no idea what you guys use.

  • @crushed51 Celsius ;)

  • can you use strawberry jam in between the lairs ?

  • @NiamhD200 Absolutely - sounds good :)

  • @OnePotChefShow thx :D

  • you make me drools again david.. thx for that :P~

  • You have such a pleasant voice! I love listening to you talk! Also, I can't wait to have an excuse to try some of your recipes. They all sound so delicious! :)

  • is that raisiinnss?? :D

  • @MsMultigrain They were sultana's but you could use raisins if you wanted. I put coconut on top of mine aswell.

  • Who was the camera man back then?

  • Gee you can see the difference in the cam quality, will have to try that, With the egg whites you could make a Pavlova. Double YUM..!

  • @MyAussieDay LOL yes - this was back in the early days when I was using my old tape-based camera. Took forever to transfer onto the computer :S

  • can you cook for me everyday??

  • are u german?

  • is it good though?

  • Is it possible to use whole grain/wheat bread in this recipe? or to use light cream?

  • @Jacq2404 Absolutely - you can do both ;)

  • Is there anything you can use escept butter? I can do butter when it's baked into something, but butter alone makes me sick..

  • @PS3Cruore The butter is baked in this recipe ;)

  • yummy yummy

  • i made this with amaretto instead of vanilla ;)

  • Your food recipes are absolutely brilliant!!!! Lots of love from california dude ur a great

    Chef

  • I'll try this some other time...maybe after we're done finishing banana bread. Tnx for sharing this vid and recipe.

  • That's Wat I'm looking for soft underneath and crispy on top. I'm doing this. Uhhh delicious

  • looks good mate and i will certainly make this, thanks!

  • Tried it and it came out lovely! Absolutely delicious. Thank you for sharing!

  • do you need to add the sultarnas

  • @111MultiHotty111 No - sultanas are optional :)

  • @yes u need :)

  • 4:36 you sounded like a horse lol

  • Can't beat a GOOD bread & butter pudding, YOU ROCK!!! xx

  • Thumbs up. :-)

  • canola margarine is cholesterol raising

  • @datzfast Canola Margarine is monounsaturated - making it a healthier alternative to butter ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow I can't resist it either...so please save me some!

  • @datzfast the canola oil is the chemically modified butter is not

  • The best recipe, closest to how my greandmother used to do it. Making it tonight for the family.

  • This looks really good but i cannot stand sultanas....so i would substitute them for sliced bananas and chocolate...yummmm :DDD

  • i dont tend to use cream, i follow my nans old recipe, i'll give the cinnamon a go though it sounds quite nice :)

  • If you followed the directions and ingredients correctly, it should have worked.

  • @OnePotChefShow Do you have to use vanella essence? wat else can u use

  • @xxxdaisyxxxo You need to learn how to spell.

  • David can I suggest something that only adds to the flavour of the B+B pudding? When you've buttered your bread, cover each slice in strawberry jam. When it's finished it's amazing!

  • I will make this for my gang tomorrow...its the kind of bread pudding we love. Thank you!

  • hi, id love to make this. but i dont eat food that has cinnamon on it.. what can u suggest that i cud replace it for? thanks :)

  • Instead of Cinnamon, try Nutmeg or Mixed Spice. Alternatively, use lemon or orange zest ;)

  • Nutmeg, clove & ginger. Maybe a bit of lemon zest.

  • @floweesm powdered garlic should be fine for you.

  • Drrrrooooooooooooooollll.

  • lol your awesome :3 ill make some later!

  • vannila essence? i thought it was called vannila extract.....

  • Vanilla Extract is made from Vanilla. Vanilla Essence is an artificial vanilla flavoring (which is cheaper) - either will do.

  • I made this and for some reason it tasted a bit like french toast ...

  • Hi ..i loved yr video. Can i use milk instead of cream...is it of the same amount? Tks

  • I recommend using cream, as it is thicker. Milk will make the pudding a little too soggy. You can use reduced fat cream if you wish ;)

  • it likes very nice wats the recipe

  • Very easy and yummy!!

  • what was that in between plz?!!

    Thanx.

  • I live in Japan and cream costs over 7to $8 might as well just buy desert ...

  • whoaa.

    In UK it costs £1

  • Food is expensive in Crapan ...main reason that this place sucks

  • i've made it, i use french bread instead of white bread. very nice, Thanks! ^^ im Chinese from Malaysia

  • have you ever worked in a proffesional kitchen bud ?

  • Years ago - but I like to think of myself as a "professional amateur" - not really a chef, but it sounds better than "One Pot Cook" LOL

  • cool :)

im 15 and wanna be a chef

ive got a basic food hygene citificate 8)

    Peace!

  • i love you mate

  • I love you too!!!

  • yeah me either and that is a new word for me...lol but thank you for letting us see it all the way through...also, at the end it would have been better if we could have seen the finished product while it was still in the pan... finally, next time please do a better close-up on the finish product...thank you!

  • This was one of my early videos - as such the angles and editing are a little rough. Check out my latest videos - they are a little more professional ;)

  • I've never heard of sultanas before. What are they? Raisins?

  • Sultanas are dried grapes - they are slightly larger and moister than raisins. If you can't get sultanas, use raisins or any dried fruit you like :)

  • Excellent -- thanks! The recipe looks delicious.

  • better substitute for the bread is hot-crossed buns, they contain sultanas and have a sweet, fiery taste to them which with the cream and egg custard goes really well togrther

  • i love this recipe i've made it several times already :)

  • I like the way you make Bread and butter pudding.

I just like to say something my mum put on the bread is jam .What do you think?

    From Aussie Lisalove

  • Marmalade is also good if you want to add a bit of tang!

  • I just made Bread and Butter Pudding on Saturday but watching this video has made me want to make it again!!! And this time with custard instead of the pudding... oh and I'm sorry I would be using the powdered custard with milk and sugar... sorry mate!

  • You can always trust a FAT chef!

  • yep !

  • really good ta, been looking around some recipes online as to how many eggs to add. I've always used mixed spice or "all spice" (same thing) instead which has all the nugmeg and other spices in one go to be nice and easy as well as choping those slices of bread or small then buttering both sides for a messy dish :)

    God bless and thankyou

    Si'

  • Very good video with a very friendly presentation. Thankyou I will try that it looks yummy.

  • The problem with the recipe is that so much of the recipe contains ingredients - eggs, cream, butter - that are full of calories. I omitted the butter/margarine completely. I then soaked the bread with skimmed milk. Although sugar does not contain many calories, I sweetened it with honey, for a better flavour. I then topped it with a patent cornflour custard. Even with the lower calorie ungredients, it is irresistable.

  • Five stars! I am so glad I found your channel. I'm trying this. Thanks. Great upload.

  • Nice video. I'm going to try your recipe.

Would you and your viewers please visit thesmartpod channel to check out a unique video mount accessory that attaches anywhere and holds any camera position. Perfect for cooking vlogs as it attaches to the edge of the counter or above on the kitchen cabinets. And it can help you get that all important shot directly above the food that you are preparing. Please check it out. Thanks.

  • hehe this looks very yummi :)

  • Hi. Can we replace the cream by milk please?

  • You can replace the cream with milk - enjoy!

  • I got some questions for you.How many eggs and how much milk? When you say thickend cream does that mean heavy cream? This looks delicous and i really want to make it.Thanks

  • Ingredients and quantities are in the Info Box (to the right of the video) - Thickened cream is basically normal, unsweetened cream. Good Luck!!

  • Looks wonderful! Very similar to an American favorite, "Baked French Toast" Keep on making videos, I love them!

  • That looks yummmm :D

Wish i had cinnamon and sultanas haha.

    By the way just a note the Camera man or woman is kinda really bad. The Camera work on your cooking videos is just awfull lol. It ruins your awesomeness D;

  • waat? i have to make this ins chool tomorrow... did you say saltaners? the brown stuff u put on top of cinnamom

  • Sultanas (a type of dried fruit made by sun drying grapes) may be added to this recipe if desired. Hope this helps you out!

  • thank you SOOO much it does help yay

  • Depending on what country you live in, 'sultanas' typically mean 'raisins'. but traditionally, it's 'currants' which are used in bread pudding. Currants are small seedless raisins imported from Corinthia - as opposed to sultanas, which are from Turkey or Iran and are smaller than regular raisins but larger than currants.

  • This kitchen looks so much more better than your avocado green one. Hope you win the lottery one day!

  • Even I, an amateur cook, can make it and my kids love it. It is really easy. I have made it four times for different occasions. wow....

  • I made this rec, i definately recommend it,

  • wheres the pot.
