  • @dash94 yeah thats what they say 4x the processing power but thats not the case, and the xbox's cpu is a pentium III based cpu.

  • Bleem! (peace upon them) were able to fully emulate some PSOne like like Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid with smoother animation and high resolution rendering. N64 games might be easy to fully emulate on Dreamcast with skilled programmers.

  • Pretty impressive, considering that the Dreamcast and N64 were basically contemporaries, and that the DC wasn't even a full generation leap ahead. I guess having... what, four times the RAM? helps a lot, though. (But we can probably write off emulating any games that were designed for 8 MB of RAM, like Perfect Dark or LoZ: Majora's Mask.)

  • There is not enough RAM on Dreamcast to put whole N64 -game in.

    Dreamcast does not have hardrive.

N64 games work on N64 because because N64 reads only part of the game once.

  • get us ocarina of time!!!

  • I bet they can have this running full speed if they spent MORE TIME MAKING IT!

  • Assuming that there wasn't much time invested into optimizing the code AND the code base (Daedalus for PC) is much worse than today's Project 64, if someone would port and optimize Project 64... Hmmm...

  • even the wii has better graphics than this game...

  • @Connerence12

The Wii has better graphics? No shit Sherlock, this game came out in the late 90's, most probably before you were even born.

  • This video proves nintendo and sega shouldn't be mixed

  • Amazing! ...thats like running a Dreamcast emulator on a PS2!!!

  • @brendude95 haha, no it isn't. You see, the dreamcast had nearly the exact same specs as the Ps2 with the exception of different media formats.

  • @noideac

    N64 - 96mhz

    Dreamcast - 200mhz

    PS2 - 299mhz

You might want to look a bit deeper into the specs, sure the Dreamcast and the PS2 are not very far apart but neither is the N64 and Dreamcast. I wasn't making an exact comparison i was just pointing out how similar the hardware differences were and how much of an achievement this emulator is. And also, going onto Youtube to correct the smallest points you can find to make yourself look good, actually makes yourself look like an asshole.

  • @brendude95 The hardware differences you're mentioning are more complicated than raw processor speed..

  • @ns12123

I know, it also includes GPU which is another important factor, and also how easy it is to develop on the original console. But when it comes down to it 9/10 its the processor speed, most of the PC emulators run better in the order of their CPU speed, with the exclusion of the Sega Saturn.

I was just saying that the jump in power from the N64 to Dreamcast is similar to that of the Dreamcast to PS2. This is quite an acheivment.

  • @brendude95 therefore the N64 was and still is better than the PShit2

  • @nessnes64

Haha, N64 fanboys are the worst, what makes you think that. And by the way, the N64 is one of the worst consoles of all time, only being beaten by the XBOX 360.

    Grow up fanboy.

  • @nessnes64

"PShit2"...real mature...and what made you come to that conclusion. Probably because you are obsessed with Mario and can't even think straight about what a good game is, moron.

  • @brendude95 i know what a good game is....

    but it isnt on ps3/2

    faggot

  • @nessnes64

Yes it is, the PS2 easily has the biggest quantity of games, both exclusive and multiplatform. Not to mention the quality, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shadow of the Colossus, Resident Evil 4, the list is endless.

Far better than ONE decent game on the N64...Ocarina of Time...and even that game is rediculously overated...it has no momentum...to plot...and the dungeons are so tedious...

and resorting to insults like "faggot" aren't doing you any favours, just shows you are pretty stupid.

  • @brendude95 ps2 has lots of games because its so simple and easy to code games for, also the only 'good' 'games' that you are talking about are gory shooting games.

nintendo likes to aim to children not 34 year olds living in their parents basement with no jobs

  • @nessnes64

    PS2 isn't easy to code for :L

The EE put a lot of stress on developers...

The Dreamcast...XBOX and Gamecube were easier to code for...

  • @nessnes64

Not gory shooting games at all...im a long time gamer and i despise FPS's...i would personally like to wrap Halo, Gears of War and the XBOX 360 into a ball and cram it up bill gates ass...

The PS2 does have a lot of great games...from many great series...but the N64 has next to zero games...not to mention the 32mb cartridge completely restricts developers into making "3D NES games"...

  • @brendude95 you despise the stories of those games too? wow, you really ARE pathetic

  • @Connerence12

That last sentence didn't make sense at all.

But you called me pathetic, so you are obviously upset about something I said =P.

  • @brendude95 you said you despise all fps games, that must also mean you despise the extremely well put together story line that are in those games, that's what make you pathetic, thinking that the story of sonic is better than the story of halo, modern warfare 2, etc.

  • @Connerence12

Google the word "majority" you rude prick.

Halo and Modern Warfare 2 have terrible stories...

However Killzone 2 and Half-life don't have bad stories at all.

I was referring to the MAJORITY...so there is no need to cry about the fact I insulted your perfect little Halo.

  • @brendude95 dude... did the mission "No Russian" have any impact on you whatsoever, or do you just hate MW2 cause you get quickscoped and noobtubed?

  • @Connerence12

"No Russian" was a pathetic mission. It was a completely pointless and irrelevant mission used to cause controversy and hype up the game and to make arrogant little shits like you think that the game was "well kewl".

  • @brendude95 We don't say "weel kewl" in the first place, we use "awesome" "sweet" and "cool" We're not 6 you moron.

AND getting back to the old argument, most people who are "old school gamers" strongly believe that the graphics on the next-gen consoles are crap compared to the dreamcast's which is B.S.

  • @Connerence12

I think this generation has some great graphics, but most of the games are still terrible.

  • @brendude95 Name a few non-fps games these days that aren't terrible

  • @Connerence12 Oh shit where do I start... Final Fantasy XIII Assassin's Creed 2 Little Big Planet Red Dead Redemption Fallout 3 Mass Effect 2 Metal Gear Solid 4 Sonic 4 Heavy Rain Gran Turismo 5 F1 2010 ...shit im running out of breath...
  • @brendude95 My objections, Fallout 3 is and fps, and mass effect 2 is praised for it's very well excecuted storyline, seriously what are your favorite games, cause those games rock! minus little big planet and sonic

  • @Connerence12

Fallout 3 is technically an RPG.

And yes those games rock, the point I was trying to prove is they AREN'T FPS's for fuck sake :L.

  • @Connerence12

You probably havn't even played Little Big Planet and Sonic, and just because it doesn't have guns in it doesn't mean its a bad game.

Why did you think I referred to you as a closed minded and idiotic kid in the first place?

  • @Connerence12

The only good FPS's I can think of is the Call of Duty series. That's it.

  • @brendude95 And get pwned by an energy sword in halo

  • @Connerence12

Halo? Don't get me started on that piece of shit. Most overated and generic game series in the history of gaming.

You are arguing with the wrong person kid. I'm a far more experienced gamer than you. Not to mention im not a simple minded and immature prick who finds amusement in shooting innocent people in the face.

  • @brendude95 Let's see... I've been gaming since i can remember and I'm 14. I went through PLENTY of video games including: the 2001 version of Spiderman, Sonic, Hot Shots Golf, AND PLENTY OF OTHERS You're only a year older than me... SO the reason WHY No Russian was such an impactful mission was this: How many times in video gaming that aren't fps games do you get a bullet to the face and make it seem you killed thousands of Russian civillians starting WW3.

  • @Connerence12

Haha, No Russian was a poor mission, killing civilians because dumb kids think it's funny, thats all it is.

  • @brendude95 Most people don't think its funny you know... as for instance my friends, whenever they play the mission, it always runs countless chills up their spines, as do I

  • @Connerence12

I have to admit the plot was farely decent at that point.

  • @Connerence12

Fucking kids these days. Dumb, rude, arrogant, simple minded, I feel embaressed to say I'm 15.

  • @brendude95 And i see you buy into the B.S. and agree with the parents that follow that very old tradition: hate the younger people.

  • @Connerence12

    "Hate the younger people"

    Why shouldn't I?

They are a bunch of fucking sheep.

  • @brendude95 How are we as dumb as the animals that would walk right off a cliff? We're smarter, less homophobic, and more friendly than the people of the 1980s

  • @Connerence12

No "we" aren't. Kids these days a bunch of dicks, disrespectful, aggresive, rude little shits.

All that matters in their life is shitty rap music and Halo.

  • @brendude95 and friends, and family and school

  • @brendude95 And you offend your own people, their lifestyles, and their preferred gaming mode... THAT is why you suck!

  • @Connerence12

    How do I offend them?

I have to admit, you are coming off a lot smarter than you were before. Im going to tone down the insults and I reckon you should too.

  • @brendude95 By saying that they're sheep, rude, arrogant, and dumb.

  • @Connerence12

Im embaressed to be under the age of 18.

Almost every adult in the street, I feel like walking up to them and saying "Do you know those hoodie wearing twats who spend their lives on Facebook, think they are cool, listen to shitty music and abuse old people...that isn't me."

  • @nessnes64

Anyway im 15 and i have a job...and no i don't live on the street either...

  • vale graxias

  • any way this can be played faster?or a faster version of mario 64

  • woooow it runs even better that on N64

  • I think I will play Mario kart 64 on the N64 or the Wii.

  • Thankz For The Links

  • Why there is to many assholes saying shit on the coments?

The speed sucks, but that's not the point, the point is that it's running on a dreamcast, that's the fact, If you want to play the shit download pj64.

  • @GlitchySoftware Do You Got A Link For The Fast Version IOf This Game?

  • @GlitchySoftware So what you're saying is that people on here blame the Dreamcast for not being a N64?!

    XD

  • lol look at how slow the milliseconds are going lol it reminds me of when I'm in class

    anyway Dreamcast and N64 FTW!

  • mejor comprense un N64 estan muy baratos

  • im having trouble with the N64 emu + Mario64 CDI i tried to put it onto a disc using discjuggler and it wasnt succsesfull what do you recommend how do i get it to play on my dreamcast?

  • make a PJ64 emulator for dreamcast... seriously... try any other emulator other than Daedalus, there's a PJ64 emulator for Xbox and it's just perfect!

  • Actually there is no direct PJ64 emulator for Xbox, there is a port along with two or three others called "Surreal 64." And, the DC's CPU isn't as powerful as Xbox. So, there's not even a 50% chance that it would work at full-speed on DC.

  • yeah, Pj64 is an awesome emulator.

  • N64 uses two separate GPUs with a combined clock speed of around 156.25MHz, whereas the DC uses a single GPU at 200MHz.

All things considered, the performance of this emulator is quite impressive!

  • umm.

DC has a CPU speed of 200mhz not a gpu speed.

I dont know shit about the n64 but that information again sound vastly wrong.

  • The N64 hardware info is basically correct.

The Nintendo 64's central processing unit (CPU) is a MIPS R4300i-based NEC VR4300.[21] The CPU is 64-bit with a core clock speed of 93.75 MHz running on a 32bit bus.

The Nintendo 64's graphics and audio duties are performed by the 64-bit SGI coprocessor, named the "Reality Co-Processor"[26]. The RCP is a 62.5 MHz chip split internally into two major components, the "Reality Signal Processor" (RSP) and the "Reality Display Processor" (RDP)

  • I just copied the info directly from wiki instead of having to type is all out. but i already knew all of it ( i just ran out of room to type that i did)

  • The DC functions on a single processing unit which runs at about 200mhz. The central processor is the graphics processor, so either acronym would be suitable.

  • @WilliamJValentine

No, the Dreamcast has a SH4 cpu and a PowerVR GPU. the SH4 is 200mhz though.

  • Holy Crap...

The Data Can't Be Saved For Ghost!!

  • woah... I thought this wasn't possible, shame about the speed..... Why wasn't this more advertised within the homebrew scene??

  • boring ass slow :/

    N64 forever

  • pixileated

  • shame it cant run at full speed

  • Shame that the N64 emulator for DC is just an interpreter and does not use dynamic recompilation.

  • a little too laggy for my taste but hey when you play it on psp for so long you kinda get yousto it

  • i wouldnt bother if it ran that slow on the framerate

  • This is the original rom, no compression was used. There are 2 emulators, 1 has a rom limatation of 10 mgs and only runs mario64=faster. The other 1 does not and is what i used for these videos.

  • How did you get it to fit in the Dreamcast RAM?

  • wow how did you compress this rom, amazing footage. Thanks 5 stars
