@MintythecatIsABeast Just checked out a trailer- its a John Carpenter film do I'm gonna have to watch it I think! The Thing is one of my favourite films.
@darrenwalshsock Yeah still here mate! When I was a kid my mam told me I used to hide behind the back of the sofa when the incredile hulk was on (part where he changed) lol!
For me Argento was one of the masters of the day. Suspiria was my hands down favourite just because Jessica Harper was in it! lol But, like other folks have commented, it looks FANTASTIC. The colours and the visuals just rock. Sadly, most of Argento's films have become a bit dated, but, they never fail to entertain or impress.
@DADDII2 That's a fair comment Mike - Jessica Harper is/was certainly a looker! The colours are so vivid on Suspiria I thought my TV settings were out at first! lol. I agree it's dated, had I watched this when it first came out I suspect it would have scared me a lot more than it did now. What's your favourite film genre?
@ianwilson1978 It's a real tie when it comes to my favourite genre. I'm hooked on Westerns and Horror films. But to be honest I love just about all film genres. I adore film noire as well. I'm just a complete film-a-holic I guess. Having said that, except for noire and horror, a lot of films still fit into the Western genre. Sorry that was a loooong answer to a short question! lol
Argento gets a lot of credit for Suspiria as it's the first Film in the "Three Witches" Tilogy. I find it average overall but the Lighting and Colour is fantastic. Goblin made a lot of Music for Giallo and Italian Horror and Argento's Films in particular. I like The Sect/La Setta (Argento producer this) and Tenebrae along with Inferno. The Church is great but avoid Mother of Tears at all costs. His Daughter was in a few of his Films too. Glad you are into Horror too Ian :)
@MintythecatIsABeast Sounds like your as much of a fan as Ben mate! Already mentioned on here I thought Suspiria was so so. I can see why it's got a following with it's art direction etc... Maybe one for the connoisseurs!
@ianwilson1978 Yes, not sure why they interest me :) I'd recommend The Prince of Darkness as: Alice Cooper has a part in the Film, Donald Pleasance is great in it, Victor Wong is in it (big trouble in little China and many other Films) and to top it all off the Devil himself happens to be canned up under a Church in a Catacomb - now that's what I call bold concepts that only the 80s can provide! :D
@jorgito21st I'm streamlining my collection at the moment, down to around 50 games or so- keeping the nostalgic faves and stuff I play with my brother. There's still a few game I'd like such as Crude Buster etc..
Personally I think susperia gets more hype then anything in my opinion I think it's just average and beside one or 2 of the gore scenes it's just ok. The 1st time I watched it I believe I fell asleep lol but give it a try and do let us know how you feel about it. If your a horror purist you will prolly appreciate it.
@jorgito21st I thought it was "ok". Art wise its nice with the bright colouring etc... didn't find it very scary though and the dubbing was a bit off-putting (to be expected I suppose).
nice one!..and never seen that particular cover before sheesh, I hope you like it now, the pressures on haha ;) will be cool to see your future bluray scores!
@cyanidebreathmintz Well if I'm honest mate I thought it was "ok". You cant argue it's not really nice stylistically with the bright colours and interesting film angles (like the "zoom in" section on the sliding doors at the beginning). Didn't find it particularly scary though (maybe some of that's down to age and special effects etc..?) and the dubbing was a bit off-putting. Though hey at least I've tried it out! I'm gonna look at some of the others you mentioned.
That is not correct. In Ian`s defense, he has already gone on record by stating that he ahs `switched to the new channel design and made a few changes."Retired" the Mega Drive Memories name (and that) MegaDrive.me will carry the torch now! This will give me freedom to have some variety in my videos here onwards.` Megadrive.me is a site created by Ian & Jake Smith that focuses on the Mega Drive. It can be a little bit limiting to produce a video on a particular gaming system
@FMYM2612 Don't think that's really fair. I'm still a fan of the machine and always will be- like I've mentioned to RaulBillieJean it got to a point where I was getting too obsessed with things and I started to lose the passion for it. I was making videos to keep other people happy rather than myself. I'll still have Mega Drive related videos inn the future. Suppose it's up to people whether they want to unsubscribe or not, some have already and that's fine. It's a free world :-)
@ianwilson Well considering it now takes you 6 months to upload a really exciting Mega Drive video and (we) as your subscribers are forced to wait another 6 months just for another after that i'd say you have definitely changed. Your heart is no longer in the right place, i'm not being mean or unfair, just stating what most people here are thinking in their heads but are too shy to tell you the truth.
Looks like we'll have to find some other Mega Drive fanatic to worship. DanesGames perhaps?
@FMYM2612 I've got nothing to add other than what I've already wrote- which I don't think you've read/understood (otherwise you wouldn't have posted this).
@RaulBillieJean I'll always be a big fan of the Mega Drive, just decided to include other content on my channel also. I'm streamlining my collection to around 50 games or so- just keeping the stuff I really want. Things got to a point where I got too obsessed and I started to lose the passion for it. Dario Argento made some awsome Giallo movies in the 80's very gory some of them see deep red amongst many other, plus awsome music, great stuff.

Goblin did the music for the original Dawn of the Dead. The music I'd have to say is the scariest thing about susperia, not one of my
Top horrors but still worth a watch
