I hate this camera I have it and I can't get it to shoot crisp shots, it might be me, but I've been learning for months now and some sides are blurry and some sides of the pictures are nice and sharp, it's really getting me frustrated!!
@TheBoyNextDoor7002 Make sure you have the subject as the closest thing to the camera. Otherwise, your focus will catch on the periphery of the shot which it sounds like is what is happening.
it perfect video it is very useful and i have one question about my camera d5000 zoom when i use the digital zoom i mean the 3th and 4th button in left side from screen when i zoom in then take pic i find it without zoom if i want make zoom should use the lens so what the problem ?......thanks for alll
Problem with this LCD screen is that when you want to make an auto portrait with the camera on a tripod you can't see yourself on the screen. It would be helpful to be able to open it on a side like Canon cams do.
Thanks so much, I'm getting mine on Monday, and I'm a begining photographer and I think its a great first camera to start off with until I can move on to bigger and better things.
You do not need to look in the view finder to see the shutter speed or aperture when on manual. Just make sure you hit the info button and you can see the changes happen in real time. Great videos!
xsometimes just a small strip may appear at the edges of the photographs with different colors... i have used both the kit lens and 50 mm lens to check if its with the lens, but it happened with both.when i take a picture the picture looks perfect on the LCD however when i view it on a computer its a different image alltogether with such color issues.I have also formatted the memory card to check if this helps, but still the same issue..
Hi There!!! My name is Harshal and I am from India.. first of all I would like to thank you for posting such an informative video..really appreciate..I would also like to inform you that I purchased a Nikon D90 on 6th July 2010....very happy that i finally got it...however, the sad part is that since last 3-4 days I have been getting images that have color issues. for eg. if i click 20 pictures, a couople of pictures will have split colors..like the pictue will be spilt in half with a line..
@expressions0007 It might just be a white balance problem, especially if you are shooting under any kind of mixed light. Try shooting under one single light source and match the white balance accordingly. If you still get the split, you'll have to send it in to Nikon.
I got mine a few months ago and I love it. It takes a while to learn all the settings by heart but once you do it's quite easy to change settings quickly. Throw away the kit-lens though. I got the 16-85mm Nikkor with VR2. Awesome lens also for HD filming. It does make the camera a lot heavier. The lens weighs more than the camera. When will you post part-2? I look forward to it.
@EddyBergman Part 2 is pretty much done, I just never got around to exporting it from the program. When I export stuff from the program it ties my entire system up for whatever reason... So I'll get it up eventually, probably pretty soon.
@sk8terwolfe5 Honestly, I'm not entirely sure. If you just go to that menu, you can see which one is highlighted. If I had to guess, it would be AE/AF lock.
@bridgeoverwater627 Not at all the speed is not an issue once you get to know d5000, the d90 really is no quicker to use. The single biggest reason to go for the d90 is the viewfinder its bigger and brighter. Also the fact you can use non AFS lenses.
m8, I'v seen a lot of your videos (Reviews and Tutorials) Pretty impressed with them all, Except this one. Especially @ 3:03 to 3:07, u seemed to be pissed off with somethin. Keep it cool young fella. Good Luck.
Hi;) im prety new in photography and i was gonna det the D90... you recomend anything else?

Stop comparing it to the D90, we know it isn't a D90. We want to know the pros/cons. This was incredibly biased, and uninformative.

@sk8terwolfe5 it does any of a number of things. go into the camera's menu and you can get a list of things.

I was wondering what you thought of the D5000. I own one and looking to sell it to move on to the D90.
azbor1cua 2 years ago
the only reason you should do that is if you need speedier controls. other than that, the cameras are essentially identical.

Don't forget to mention that the D5000 has an interval timer whereas the D90 does not.
