I have just made a quick animation on Adobe Flash CS3 And want to export it to edit it. My problem is I do export to avi (because I edit with windows live movie maker -) ) but my video is only 0:00 seconds long?!? HELP
@MegaTutorialGeek - Did your Adobe Flash come with Adobe Media Encoder? If so, I am about to make a tutorial showing you how to create an .avi file from your Flash animation. If you don't have Adobe Media Encoder, there are lots of roundabout ways of creating .avi from .mov's, but it has very mixed results, and very few of the good programs are free.
Hi, I always wanted to export my flash movie into a movie file so that I could upload it on YT, but Flash 8 always gave me problems... Is CS4 better? I mean, is all that export stuff improved? Because Flash 8 is a real pain.
@RatherGrim No... No matter how I change the settings, my avi file is always more than 1GB even if the flash is only 30 secs, and the quality is horrible. Exporting in mov doesn't work, I should lower the version of flash I'm using down to 5, and I don't want to do it because filters on movie clips are not maintained. Even updating my quicktime, things don't change. I heard that CS4 has better settings for improving, so I'll try it out in the near future.
Okay this have bugged me a lot now. When exporting to Quicktime what exact settings do you use there? I have tried "animation" and "H.264" but I cant get it to export. Yours is set to 550x400 pixels, but then what?
Thank you! Before I didn't even have quicktime and I have never been able to install it because I need the "Apple Application"-something.. Now it just worked, and I have no idea how :D Thank you for making me trying :P
Great tutorial men, Windows AVI, does suck... and i have been triyng all formats, and they almost all suck... until i just said, fuck it, youtube most have the selution...

@CugnoTheSwiss - Were you unable to follow this tutorial with Flash 8? I have not used Flash 8 in many years, and am not sure how they compare.

Thank you very much, I learned lots and found the video extremely helpful.
For some reason quicktime wasn't properly installed on my computer, but now i will hopefully be able to upload some good quality videos!
Thanks again.

But mine won't let me export as quicktime, is it because I havent downloaded quicktime?
GrandDewalt 2 years ago
@GrandDewalt - Hhmm.
Does it not have "Quick Time (*.mov)" in the drop down menu?
Or does it come up with an error when you try to do it?
And, having Quick Time is (as far as I know) necessary, to be able to actually PLAY it, once it is exported.
RatherGrim 2 years ago
It has it there, but an error happens when I select it
GrandDewalt 2 years ago
@GrandDewalt - Try downloading Quick Time, if that doesn't work, post what the error message says here; and I'll see what I can do.
