I Could Be Wrong but I think this was the very last Old Nintendo Commercial. I remember seeing this back when I was a kid and I was so happy when they came out with Mega Man 6. It's interesting how they advertised 2 video games in 1 commercial Mega Man 6 and Startropics 2. This is a great commercial thanks for posting !!!!!!!!
0:14, "Machine Washable". Thanks nintendo, shoved it into the washer, and dried it, and it came out sith lightning bolts saying, NOW YOUR PLAYING WIH POWER
@gameroomvids because this was years after its original release. its original price was much higher, it just lowered in value after a while just like every other system, including the Wii. learn economics
@gameroomvids The obvious answer would be inflation but even that doesn't make sense as I recall even n64 games in the mid 90s were pushing 50 dollars each.
Wow I had to thank my grandma for being stupid then. I saw this commercial and told my granny I want this system for my birthday but then she mistakenly bought me a SNES instead thinking it was this system.
@italyboy76@WebVMan Seriously? I got an NES2 with 2 controllers and all the cords from a local pawn shop for $40. Works really well, good picture quality, the controllers suck hard though. I need a square one.
This was when I got an NES, my family never had the original model. I did end up picking up an original model in the early 2000's, which is what I still use. Top Loader just had inferior picture/sound sadly.
@MajesticMooseMovies It took me like....30 tries to hear that first word...but hes saying "tube heads" implying someone who watches too much tv. I only comprehended this by comparing it to the end where he says you watch too much tv.
@DDRUTOU So true! Game commericials overall are very effective, they very rarely show them in Sweden were iam from. But i remeber they showed Zelda64, i bought it. And they Showed Prince of persia 2 thrones, and i bought it just cuz that commercial=)
YES I DO remember that $49.95 check that grandma sent me. I wondered why she gave me such a strange amount when she just as easily could have made it $50, BUT NOW IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!
The system went for $50. This was pretty close to the end of the NES lifecycle. Zoda's Revenge was the 2nd to last NES game released in the U.S. (Wario's Woods being the last)
Funny thing is, nowadays a used toploader NES goes for way more than $50, and the "dogbone" controllers go for more than many other 1st and 3rd party NES controllers...which make sense in my opinion. I've used them a couple times before, they're quite nice. Plus they still work on the old model NES I think.
ah a nintendo top loader lol those things are pretty rare but they work better then the average nintendo i reconemnd it to anyone who can get there hands on it
Lol, I wonder if anyone tried to actually machine wash a NES =P Lol! Battle Zoda, the man with no face! ha ha. Sadly MM6 was the last MM game on the NES =(
@SatoshiMatrix1 If the games can stay outside for 2 days in freezing conditions and when they warm up they play fine, I bet you can machine wash the system.
This is back when I got a toploader because I was too young in the 80's. Don't remember the commercial, but I do remember always gawking at it at Toy Works
i think this was the only TV advertisement that was ever for any of the first 6 NES mega man games in the US cause I can't find any other ones on youtube
Now THAT was an NES system that we shouldve gotten in the first place... instead of that faulty 10NES 'Blinky McBlinkBlink Blowing into the cartridge is FUN' console that reminds me how hard it was to get a game to work compared to actually PLAYING the game!
Lol, I remember one time when I blew some air inside the old NES model that looked like a VCR to clean it, and the next thing I know I had dust in my eyes X(
Nice commercial, and Mega Man 6 is one of my FAVORATES... And I only wish I could get a hold of that Nintendo Top Loader when it was $49.95. And so my search continues...
Even rarer is the A/V North American Prototype. Although there was only about 10, 000 of these made, there was only about 5 A/V versions, some guy on eBay is asking $500 for his!
