  • I Could Be Wrong but I think this was the very last Old Nintendo Commercial. I remember seeing this back when I was a kid and I was so happy when they came out with Mega Man 6. It's interesting how they advertised 2 video games in 1 commercial Mega Man 6 and Startropics 2. This is a great commercial thanks for posting !!!!!!!!

  • IS THAT ENDLESS MIKE?!?

  • Battle... evil.... robots?

  • 0:14, "Machine Washable". Thanks nintendo, shoved it into the washer, and dried it, and it came out sith lightning bolts saying, NOW YOUR PLAYING WIH POWER

  • "You can play the new MegaMan 6... and battle... evil... robots?" He says that like he's confused, or like its lame

  • If only I could buy a toploader for $50 today.

  • @12QWASZXQWERTYUIOP I bought one for $55, but it was used and missing the box and booklets.

  • Was that SAM ROCKWELL, star of such popular films as CONFESSIONS OF A DANGEROUS MIND, CHARLIE'S ANGELS, and MOON?

  • who gives a birthday present check with a change amount??

  • $49.95 is a lie...they forgot about sales tax. GRANDMAAAA!!!!

  • So an NES used to cost less than a new Wii game...how's that work Nintendo?

  • @gameroomvids because this was years after its original release. its original price was much higher, it just lowered in value after a while just like every other system, including the Wii. learn economics

  • @paralyzed21 I was being sarcastic

  • @gameroomvids The obvious answer would be inflation but even that doesn't make sense as I recall even n64 games in the mid 90s were pushing 50 dollars each.

  • displaying colors on tv's is sooo 90's

  • i wish i had a check from my grandma for 49 dollars....

  • that boy more like Hotrod , I mean Judd Nelson, lol about Hotrod XD

  • IS THAT SAM ROCKWELL?

  • @MrAstropop99 I believe so. How he went from playing a gang leader in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie" to this is beyond me.

  • 2 people still want their mommy soap.

  • And that's how i got a seizer...

  • wow im glad i was to young to remember all those old commercials

  • I can even shower with it!

  • @OSDolphin I loled that was so random

  • that looks like fuckin shit. thank god i wasn't around in those days.

  • @trollingtheweb You have TVs to record with, all they had were toasters. It looked amazing for it's time.

Now go play COD while I play my SNES.

  • cool story bro

  • Wow I had to thank my grandma for being stupid then. I saw this commercial and told my granny I want this system for my birthday but then she mistakenly bought me a SNES instead thinking it was this system.

  • @blueswan1984 You missed out, this version of the NES is rare and sought after. The SNES is great too but the NES top loader is such a sweet system

  • Oh granny. sending me your oddly priced checks.

    49.95 lmao

  • MegaMan 6 Sucks

  • I wish they still made ads like this, for new consoles because they would sell out

  • That is Rick Gomez, he played the cop in Transformers, and George Luz in Band of Brothers.

  • @Sosozanyway Whoa, it is, too... I was thinking "Man, I know that guy... but what the hell from?"

  • @Sosozanyway and the bully from Pete and Pete

  • is that sam rockwell??? im thinkin it is

  • WIll this work with my Mac?

  • i have to buy the nes for 49.95$ the best offer in my life

  • that was my very first nintendo system

  • @jman19mwi me too *internet high five*

  • @SamuraiGhost63 lol we the same age lol 2

  • Albeatz:Man i Remember games were Cheap and Fun for Kids,Now XBox and PS3 Games R Expensive and Real Violent 4 The Kids and Teen Society!!!.

  • Is that Endless Mike from Pete & Pete?

  • I wish I could get NES2 for $50. it cost more like $80 now. Damn!

  • @italyboy76 You think that's bad? It costs $139.98 with one NES1 controller and no instructions, box, or anything at my local Half Price Books.

  • @italyboy76 @WebVMan Seriously? I got an NES2 with 2 controllers and all the cords from a local pawn shop for $40. Works really well, good picture quality, the controllers suck hard though. I need a square one.

  • i loved those commercials where you get epileptic shocks from.

  • This was when I got an NES, my family never had the original model. I did end up picking up an original model in the early 2000's, which is what I still use. Top Loader just had inferior picture/sound sadly.

  • At the beginning i thought he was stretching a rubber condom, not a cheque!

  • Endless Mike!

  • My grandma gave me $100 for xmas last year. I went straight to the gameboy games in the collectors store at my local mall

  • my "granny" only gave me $10 for christmas :(

  • 4 more X-Mases and you've got a NES.

  • your grandmother must be fucking rich

  • "There, Jewbags, wake up!"

Can someone tell me what he really says please?

    This is too funny.

  • @MajesticMooseMovies It took me like....30 tries to hear that first word...but hes saying "tube heads" implying someone who watches too much tv. I only comprehended this by comparing it to the end where he says you watch too much tv.

  • I wish I could still by a new NES top loader for 50 bucks.

  • Heh, I just got a top loader last year and it was certainly more than $50 now. LOL

  • wow, talk about hypocrisy :/

the guy says that i've watched too much tv, but i got said message FROM tv

which defeats the whole purpose and-

i dunno i look too much into these things and it's scary, really

  • is it just me or does it sound like he says JEWBAGS? lol was it just me?

  • whats funny is last may i got mine for $65.00

  • Man, Nintendo's commercials were awesome I want to buy these game now, because of this commercial

  • @DDRUTOU So true! Game commericials overall are very effective, they very rarely show them in Sweden were iam from. But i remeber they showed Zelda64, i bought it. And they Showed Prince of persia 2 thrones, and i bought it just cuz that commercial=)

  • YES I DO remember that $49.95 check that grandma sent me. I wondered why she gave me such a strange amount when she just as easily could have made it $50, BUT NOW IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!

  • wait was was fifty bucks the game or system?

  • @mardfet

The system went for $50. This was pretty close to the end of the NES lifecycle. Zoda's Revenge was the 2nd to last NES game released in the U.S. (Wario's Woods being the last)

Funny thing is, nowadays a used toploader NES goes for way more than $50, and the "dogbone" controllers go for more than many other 1st and 3rd party NES controllers...which make sense in my opinion. I've used them a couple times before, they're quite nice. Plus they still work on the old model NES I think.

  • @mardfet 50 bucks for the system.

  • kids, you have watched too much tv, now keep sitting on your ass and start playing videogames.

  • igualito que ahora,que para tener una consola,sin juegos,tienes que pagar entre 200 a 300 €

  • So instead of watching TV, I can play video games? Works for me :D

  • I'd still prefer the old NES deck anyday.

  • ah a nintendo top loader lol those things are pretty rare but they work better then the average nintendo i reconemnd it to anyone who can get there hands on it

  • yea shower with it and your not going to be alive to play the game

  • u can even shower with it!

  • ... Brb bathing with my NES to see if this is true.

  • "Zoda the man with No face."

Zoda's an Alien, he's not even human.

Dear god, Commercials really sucked back then.

  • @OmnicronTheta

    Commercials really suck still.

  • and a year later Nintendo discontinues NES.

  • HOLY CRAP!!! NES 2!!!

  • wouldnt that guy electrocute the f*ck out of himself by showering with the NES, a machine, and megaman, a robot????

  • HOLY CRAP!! HOME CONSOLES THAT COST $50!! PLZ SEND ME TO THE 80s!!!

  • I'm sure that this machine came out around the mid-90s, where the SNES and Genesis were well established and dominating the market.

  • so did the top loader NES at that time this commercial came out come with Mega Man 6 when you bought it?

  • I didn't get to see the rest of the video after 0:14 because my eyes started to water with pain

  • this commercial used to come on in the fall of 1993

  • Lol, I wonder if anyone tried to actually machine wash a NES =P Lol! Battle Zoda, the man with no face! ha ha. Sadly MM6 was the last MM game on the NES =(

....... but not the last 8-bit one! =D

  • it sounded like he didnt know what Megaman 6 was about.

    "were you.. battle evil... robots"

  • I agree!

  • @yuyuhakushox

    Fixed

"Where you battle Dr.Wilys evil robot masters!"

    yes.

  • I'm pretty sure the NES2 is NOT machine washable.

  • No, but the GBA is toilet flushable.

  • @SatoshiMatrix1 If the games can stay outside for 2 days in freezing conditions and when they warm up they play fine, I bet you can machine wash the system.

  • @SatoshiMatrix1 No, but Gameboy, Gameboy Color, and Gameboy Advance systems are.

  • LOL SNES controller

  • Japanese game commercials = Cool and nicely done

American game commercials = Bizzare, Extremely homosexual, Extremely Fucked

  • tha only thing that sux was that i only saw this at night. and i STILL have both these games!! YAY A WIN FOR ME! ^_^

  • Will you re-upload this commercial complete and in higher quality?

  • now they cost $20-$30 more on amazon or ebay. ($60-$70)

  • Technically, that's not true since 50$ in 1993 is equal to 75$ by today's inflation. So they are worth the same or less then they were in some cases.

  • very good point

  • Yup, I love my NES 101 Toploader.

  • that's actually the next nes i'm going to get, because mine 'sploaded.

  • You really should, I love the Toploader; its twice the machine of the original toaster.

It may not have A/V out, but its superior in all other ways.

  • speaking of toasters, im turning my broken frontloader into a toaster! lol. no really, i am.

  • This is back when I got a toploader because I was too young in the 80's. Don't remember the commercial, but I do remember always gawking at it at Toy Works

  • ...

  • where's a time machine when you need it

  • I don't know whether to puke or have a seizure...

  • my fav megaman game but terrible commerical

  • I remember seeing Endless Mike in a Kirby commercial as well.

  • Wish I had a NES toploader.

  • *hugs his top loader*

  • Wow... I've never seen that NES design...

  • Megaman 6 seems to 1 of the least popular megaman games out there!

  • Yet it's the very best of the NES saga.

    How ironic, no?

  • He better be careful not to rip that check in half...

  • I remember seeing this commercial, way back in the day!

Never saw any those fancier second gen nes controllers though.

  • dude. it was only 15 years ago.

  • Oh, who would trust a product endorsed by "Endless" Mike Hellstrom?

  • back then i would've been like..."I NEED THIS GAME NOA !!!!"

  • Not bad

  • So we have this, but no Rockman 6 commercial?

  • As teardrops fall... LOL!! I REMEMBER THIS!! ^__^

  • I CAN EVEN SHOWER WITH IT

  • Megaman 6 rules! BTW, that stage while you say "Battle EVIL robots" is Tomahawkman's Stage. I like it

  • i think this was the only TV advertisement that was ever for any of the first 6 NES mega man games in the US cause I can't find any other ones on youtube

  • ppl say it's the wrost but i say it's the best.

  • I can take a shower with it. XD

  • Holy shit, I'm pretty sure that dude is Endless Mike from The Adventures of Pete and Pete...

  • Thats because FONY looks at money over quality unlike other console systems. They know they will get people to buy their system even if it was 800$.

  • YOU have watched too much TV, already. That means YOU.

  • I've been wanting to see this commercial again for years. The guy in the shower always struck me as strange, but I didn't care. Mega Man 6 was out!

  • Now THAT was an NES system that we shouldve gotten in the first place... instead of that faulty 10NES 'Blinky McBlinkBlink Blowing into the cartridge is FUN' console that reminds me how hard it was to get a game to work compared to actually PLAYING the game!

  • Lol, I remember one time when I blew some air inside the old NES model that looked like a VCR to clean it, and the next thing I know I had dust in my eyes X(

  • Ouch!

Yep... brings back a lot of memories... mainly about the many creative ways to make the NES work.

We had a TON of games for the NES and we spent most of our playtime just trying to make the damn machine stop blinking!

  • lol me 2

  • Don't forget to mention Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II.

  • funny commercial.

  • Nice commercial, and Mega Man 6 is one of my FAVORATES... And I only wish I could get a hold of that Nintendo Top Loader when it was $49.95. And so my search continues...

  • I now own the system, only for $20 more!

  • yeah it's pretty rare these days

  • Even rarer is the A/V North American Prototype. Although there was only about 10, 000 of these made, there was only about 5 A/V versions, some guy on eBay is asking $500 for his!

  • Yes!!! One of my favorite commercials as a kid!
