  • Devon is indeed a county and borders Somerset, very picturesque postcard. Has two national parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor, did a twenty mile horse ride on Exmoor last year. Plymouth is in Devon where they most likely sailed from. Yes they must have been very brave.

  • OK have done some research reference my previous comments! John Adams's Great-Grandfather: Joseph Adams,Sr. was born 9 Feb 1625/1626 in Kingweston, Somersetshire Co., England, and died 6 Dec 1694 in Braintree, Norfolk County, MASS (after emigrating to US perhaps on the on Mayflower?). This is the village right next to mine - also so says he was a farmer and a shoemaker two of the main trades round here although all the shoe factories are now warehouses for shoes made in china.

  • @playagainsam1 Isn't that sad.. made in China... just depressing.. Mayflower wouldn't have brought Joseph to America.. but there were a lot of ships going to and from by the time he would have traveled. My family came from Devon.. not sure if it was the county.. Is there a town in central UK named Devon?

Man you got to admire those who left the comfort of the UK to head out to a wilderness.. ?

My Great Great Grandfather came out west on a wagon train in 1847... To a desert to settle.

  • There you go, my History isn't brilliant. my time line is out. Well i do hope you can bring some of your lovely sculptures here one day - everyone likes Cowboys and Indians. keep posting. I'll be here watching.

  • 1600??? They must have sailed over with John Adams then!! Apparently, John Adams from the next village to where i live in Somerset according to some neighbours the of Keinton Mandaville, which was in the old county of Wessex but they don't call it that any more. It is interesting because JA had a Wessex accent too if you listen. I think this is the original English accent?

  • @playagainsam1 Actually some of my ancestors came on the Mayflower. John Adams in that series lived in the 1700s to the first part of the 1800s..

  • Have you ever done any exhibitions of your sculptures in the UK?

  • @playagainsam1 Would love to ... It's where my family came from in the 1600s.. I know no-one there.. well you and a couple of other followers of my vids.. It would take a sponsor.. only thing is.. in this economy.. well It's probably never going to happen. I did have a one man show in Jakarta Indonesia... in 91. We sold a lot of artwork, but after the costs and duties.. well I made a $150 profit.. and I never saw that.. lol

What part of the UK are you?

  • @playagainsam1 Thank you so much.. I agree on the John Adams series
