  • There was no need to install a vinyl replacement window for this application. The existing window is either an Andersen Builders Select unit or a Narroline DH, both of which can be converted to a brand new 400 Series Tiltwash window. Andersen makes a "Tiltwash Conversion Kit" that seamlessly converts this window in about 15 min. The best part is that the size of the original opening is not lost.

  • And about that contractor?? His reason: "There's no reason to adjust the jambs, that's what we measure the windows for!". LOLOL!

  • I did however have to re-caulk them. The side frame rails had moved in about 1/16" after my adjustments. 20 years later the house is still quiet as a cave even when a missing muffler or dump truck roars by. LOL!

  • Wow - Good job Gorell - You guys are the FIRST WINDOW INSTALLERS I have ever heard even mention > 6:35 > jamb adjusters. 99.99% of replacement window jobs don't even acknowledge their existence! Get the word out. Jamb adjs are there for a reason - particularly on vinyl frames which can flex. I had a vinyl sash fall out on my Mom 20 years ago when she tilted it in for cleaning. After adjusting the jamb adjusters the contractor told me "not to adjust", they never fell out again!

  • Great video of Visual aid and guide from AAMA RLC-2 Residential Installation instructions. It's definitely a good idea to always double check your products, especially if you customized it.

  • omg!

  • At first I was like ohh no! Not an instructional video...but this one is actually pretty useful they left out all the BS and got to the nitty.

  • nice

  • Good video, but film a video for replacing old

thick aluminum windows. Do I need to remove the 3/4 inch drip edge with a Sawsall, or can I leave it in place. Most older houses on the west cost have aluminum windows. The exterior is usually stucco, or wood planks. There's a lot of window companies and I don't know why they don't produce multiple videos. Replacement windows

have a bad reputation--I'm thinking on milling my own? It might be easier?

  • remove out side trim ----- not a good idea

I replace windows , but do it all from inside

I only remove storm window from outside

and only use shims from bottom not sides

only use regular insulation , never foam

  • Nice instructional video.

  • Awesome video. Big thumb!

  • Good video, thank you~
