The new NFL Blitz is miles ahead of the crapfest that the Madden franchise has turned into. I also think Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit is the best racing game on the current consoles. Other than that, I'll side with the simulation-style games.
Drive definitly should have gotten some nominations and WHERES IS FASSBENDER FOR BEST ACTOR..grr..hope either hugo or artist wins most of them love em both. And i agree with you about descendants
Totally aggree with Layne. Drive should have had a lot more nominations, maybe include Shame in there too. The oscars is less about real quality movies and more about kissing ass.
Could you please remove the super indie spotlight from the video? I think all of your watchers know about it, and I think most of them are getting annoyed by it. You can use the description to advertise about it.
Personally, I'm subscribed to it, and enjoy it, but it's annoying to see it show up here even though I've watched Super Indie Spotlight already.
I think moneyball is the only movie mentioned that I've cared enough about to know anything about. I find that most movies that come out these days instill me with an over powering 'meh' feeling.
@Dwavenhobble They don't constantly churn out 'lets plays' from start to finish. It's even worse that Indiestatik's doing it with free games, he's making more money out of them than the developers. Yogscast do minecraft mod spotlights and you can tell how much effort has gone into creating the SoI series. The only 'plays' I can think of from them are their recent charity livestreams, but they were a few hours each, not just a blind playthrough of an entire game. Also, indiestatik isn't funny.
@Guccibear100 I like both but i enjoy unrealistic games way more. Like Darksiders loved it im addicted to Dark souls and Skyrim was fun for awhile way too easy. It hine sight i dont play a lot of realistic games but when i do... i play uncharted 2...
@Guccibear100 But is not a good idea to go the the army and risk your life whitout sense, you can have the fun whitout risking your life playing a nice fps like battlefield 3 or arma 2
I love the Madden franchise, but DAMN if NFL Blitz isn't the most fun you can have on the virtual field. Shame there's no more tackling after the down, but the random insanity keeps me coming back.
I play NHL 12, and there is no street version for hockey, right? If there was, Idk if I'd play it or not. Also, yay Moneyball (cause I was in it), but boo at the same time, wasn't that interesting of a movie imo.
Last but not least Layne, I don't want to watch the King Hippo series cause frankly the idea of that dude's titties hanging out all the time disgusts me. No offense though I liked your Street Fighter series, twas good \0/
The only sports games I play is motorsport. And in that genre I prefer simulation over arcade racing. Been an avid player of Gran Turismo since the first one in '98. Have enjoyed some arcady racers through the years, including NFS2, Both NFS Underground games and Blur.
The animation nominees suck this year is it because pixar didn't have a good movie to get nominated and why didn't Tin Tin get nominated. That is a good movie. Why isn't the last harry potter up there.
bottom line are you going to wacth the oscers for 3 hours for people thanking for other people nobody cares about, and the people who wacthes it will be bored to tears.
I've always loved the more unrealistic games. Halo > CoD. Timesplitters > whateverthehellwasoutthen. Mario Sports > Real Sports (This coming from a huge sports fan - that being said, MLB The Show is amazing).
Also, I hope Moneyball wins best picture and Brad Pitt wins best actor, because the movie was freagginamazing, and because of all the shit they had to go through just to make the movie.
I prefer more unrealistic - like games... pretty much all nintendo games, halo, minecraft, league of legends, etc. of course having the stuff like battlefield 3, gears 3 and others like it are not bad either, game is a game :)
I like both types of games, but being the Nintendo fan I am, I really like a more cartoon style, with nice character design as well as detailed and colorful environments. (Still like both though, I'm really into aesthetics of games).

@PurePsykosis Agreed! Quake is where I earned my chops in multiplayer shooting, and UT (the original) remains my entry for greatest multiplayer shooter of all time. IMO Epic has yet to make a better game.
@AutoPsychotic Agree with this as well ! :P I own every unreal game except for 3. I own unreal 1, ut99, unreal 2, ut2004, and ut3, and I'm missing Unreal championship 2, unreal 1 return to na pali, and ut2003.
@PurePsykosis Don't bother with 2k3; it's just the failed attempt to make 2004. Return to Na Pali was good, UC2 is amazing (Unreal and Mortal Kombat crossover FTW). Love UT3, though it's more simplistic gameplay than the original, the graphics and settings are fantastic.
I like the cartoony style. My favorite example is the racer. Personally, If I wanted to realistically drive a car, I would go drive a car. I do admit that I can't drive a Ferrari in real life but it doesn't seem that a game would really emulate that kind of experience that well.
Drive wasn't that great. It was way to slow I know people are going to be like "Go watch fast and the furious if you didnt like it". I didn't go in looking for that. The movie should have been called "Stare at things in silence for WAY longer. The actors were great, but the directing could have been better. Also the script could have been better. Oh well, that's my opinion
@SharpsPanda Yer I spent half that movie wondering if the Ryan Gosling character was semi retarded because he spent so long staring at something past the camera or chewing a tooth pick
i prefer the "cartoony games" because i've always liked nfl street, nba street, nhl hitz, mlb slugfest, and blitz the league over any of their realistic counterparts, plus the people who play the simulation styles games tend to take them too seriously
I kind of want a bit of both, I want the balance and strategy of a realistic game but with the personality of characters. Blitzball is still my favourite ever sports game (And it was a minigame in Final Fantasy X) which had strategy to it and a real system throughout, but with special moves and rpg elements along with distinct character designs and stats.
I don't listen to Oscars since Inception didn't win best picture; but looking this year, a bit ommission is Harry Potter from the category.
i miss when best picture nominees were actually movies people had seen, im not talking about major blockbusters like Avatar. i mean great films that were still mainstream ex: training day, gran torino, forrest gump, the hurt locker, the departed, etc. these are all great films that actually were popular and seen by many. not this artsy fartsy bullshit. i for one will not be watching the oscars this year because of it
Football is the only realistic one I enjoy playing, Basketball and Soccer I don't feel as in control so the arcade style like street and nba jam type games are a lot more entertaining to me.
I like both but I prefer arcade versions usually like arcade racing is way better, I usually like the Mario sport games like Mario baseball and tennis. I do like simulation sport games like NHL and Madden though.
I'm afraid I must respectfully disagree Layne. While Drive is "new and fresh", it is still a bad movie overall. The soundtrack is grating and the movie as a whole is difficult to relate with unlikable characters and a relatively stagnant protagonist. I do agree with you on the best picture nominations though. They are lackluster.
I prefer cartoony styles. Team Fortress 2, Ratchet and Clank, Abes Oddysee, FF9, yet for the ps3 I've bought very few. :( And stuff like Darksiders that don't grab me now I know if I wait 2-3 years it will all be in a collection anyway.
Drive was the best film I saw last year. With simulation vs arcadey sports games, it all depends on how well they're done! Mario Strikers was great fun but so is Fifa
Liberation sucks, it's a snipe fest and the spawning is all kinds of whack. Three separate games I spawn in front of the same player multiple times a game, leading to an incredibly negative K:D when I always go 2:1
@StrawHatRat Since when is MW3 realistic? Not trying to be rude, but COD is hardly realistic. Battlefield 3 has more Realistic Gameplay and Graphics, and ARMA2 has more Realistic Gameplay overall.
@StrawHatRat realistic??! no no. Arma 2 is realistic. Red Orchestra 2 that is realistic. Cod is an arcade shooter any day of the week. Realistic... HA.
The new NFL Blitz is miles ahead of the crapfest that the Madden franchise has turned into. I also think Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit is the best racing game on the current consoles. Other than that, I'll side with the simulation-style games.

Liberation sucks, it's a snipe fest and the spawning is all kinds of whack. Three separate games I spawn in front of the same player multiple times a game, leading to an incredibly negative K:D when I always go 2:1

Depends, COD MW3 is one of the most realistic war games out there and its useless.

@StrawHatRat Since when is MW3 realistic? Not trying to be rude, but COD is hardly realistic. Battlefield 3 has more Realistic Gameplay and Graphics, and ARMA2 has more Realistic Gameplay overall.

@StrawHatRat eitherway when you can heal bullet wounds in seconds doesnt feel that realistic lol :P

@StrawHatRat realistic??! no no. Arma 2 is realistic. Red Orchestra 2 that is realistic. Cod is an arcade shooter any day of the week. Realistic... HA.
