Thanks for the response. I don't think I'd like to start out on the Columbia though. I love to watch when I can. That's good to know about the kite doing most of the work. I noticed that you need strong legs to place the board in a favorable position on the water (ie. with the wave, not against) when you land. Right now the only type of kite I fly is my stunt kite. It gives me goosebumps to watch kiteboarding because my body would very much like to leap off waves and do a few spins.
I've got a question. I am a 44yo mom. Do you think I may be too old to learn to kiteboard? I mean, I know there's folks a lot older out there boarding but they've probably done it for quite a while. The first time I saw it done was in the Chesapeake Bay and I fell in love with the idea. I think kiteboarding and I could really get along. I could be in kiteboarding shape in six months or less. Thanks for your opinion. Bye the way, what a wonderful perspective you present to us.
Yes you could learn to kiteboard very easily. The kite does most of the work for you. You were a harness and the bar and lines are connected to a hook. So all you really need to do is fly the kite and it pulls you up and forward. It's too much fun! By the way, I'm a 47yo father so if I can do it so can you...
what is you weight?
