  • sweet

  • Totally fine to use bat against the shoulder. If you use proper mechanics it will come off when it needs to!

  • Is it ok to use this "bat against the shoulder" technique during live game play or is it only recommended for training purposes?

  • what is the name of the pitching machine?

  • Hold on!!!

Level swing; Is only effective with pitch in level swing zone!!! First determine an individuals level swing zone.. for example, a thrown "Strike pitch" at knees for a 6'2" batter must be "golfed" for outfield pop, or the 6'2" batter must "squat"(small strike zone) for infield hit. squatting will give the batter a smaller zone for a level swing! There is more to it than that, and i'm not talking about stepping and shifting. in most cases, Rotation should be automatic.

  • Happen to have an example of this swing at a ball around the knees?

  • @jvan100 good question!

  • Epstein does not teach a front foot golf swing because baseball isn't golf.

  • @abfive: I know he teaches a weight transfer to balance. The thing that I dislike about Epstein is (as far as I know) he does not teach to shift weight onto the front leg at contact. Sparky Parker (Epstein certified) teaches Epstein's stuff with a weight shift to the front leg. However, I find Mike Epstein to be one of the nicest guys teaching hitting. He isn't really a "my way or the highway" guy, unlike Nyman and a slew of others.

  • @themetsfan861 weight is never shifted to an unbalance. go ahead and try to hit off your back leg or front. its like a punch, must be balanced.

  • He certainly doesn't come off of his back side. I have only one real issue with Mike Epstein. My issue is he does not believe in a weight transfer. A lot of Mike Epstein's students hit off of their back legs. Everything else he teaches is really quite good.

  • @themetsfan861 Epstein has many videos and he does teach weight transfer, its part of his stride video instruction. With regards to students hitting of thier back leg, that is not true there are a lot of MLB (rotational) hitters where their back foot is off the ground at contact ex A-Rod or Derrick Lee. As I say video does not lie. Call or email a certified Epstein instructor and talk to them...It will change the way you feel about hitting..

  • 861...what are you looking at? its the same hitter and after he worked with this hitter (as you can see on the right) he does not squish the bug... This is the premier teacher of hitting.

  • With the first hitter, you eliminated one problem but created another. The first hitter now squashes the bug, instead of coming up on his back toe.

  • This is exactly what what you do to hit for power

  • i have a feeling that this is exactly what i do, i have been poping up lately to right field and to the infield.. i cant seem to fix it. i have a video of me on youtube can you please tell me if thats correct?

  • @BaseballSwingAddict

This is NOT what you do. Your mind is not in harmony with this player. I already told you how to develop al swing with actual power. Its truly unfortunate you discredited the information without putting it to use and you continue to manifest poor results with your old paradigms. I doubt you even read the information on the website I linked to you )= (About a month ago).

Too bad you don't want to realize mechanics don't work and you don't actually try other methods.
