I just caught on to this guy after watching a Marshawn Lynch highlight. Damn dog for the ball. Plays like Beason from the Panthers, very active in the middle. The Eagles did their homework!
I love how he faces up his tackles. No reaching, no arm tackles. Even if he's moving laterally, he manages to get in position to hit runners square or as close to square as possible. Can't wait to see him fill in for Stewart Bradley to wrap up the season.
@lhwood777 Yeah, that short burst and acceleration is great. He's got a knack for getting to the ball. Should serve us well in trying to contain the Giants' running attack, but hope he doesn't bite on the play action. He did that a couple times against Dallas and one led to a Jason Witten touchdown. Hopefully he can run the defense efficiently. I have faith in him.
WOW this dudes good. plays like he knows their complete play with the blocking schemes and all.when to slow down, delay, speed up, hop sideways or even take a step back to get away from his blockers or take them on. and got a nice tackling tech ontop of all that. impressive.

Chaney has got all these tackles, but if you watch the MSU team defense on most of these plays, everybody is doing their job. Looks like a decent team defense based on these highlights. Chaney should be taken by round 2 or 3, he had a great 40 (best of the LBs at the Combine), and was Top 10 among LBs in EVERY other physical test. Hope the Raiders take him.
why hasnt this guy received more hype? if you watch mcclains universal draft video and then you watched this you would think chaney was the top rated ILB
Chaney's videos are all highlights while McClains also shows lowlights. But, you can't deny that if someone has this many highlights, they have to be pretty good.
@chachluv because he played for miss st... same reason anthony dixon was so underrated. Better stats than Mark Ingram, but without a good W/L record....
The two videos of him against the pass and the run together are 18 minutes of Chaney dominating in both aspects of the game. He honestly looks amazing.
he can avoid blocks, but can he SHED them? which is what the nfl is all about. if he wants to start as a rookie, hes better off as a OLB. as a mlb, hes gonna need some time on the bench
Jamar Chaney might be the most complete ILB in this years draft. He plays good against the run and the pass--who ever drafts him is getting a complete football player.

i can honestly say i haven't seen non blitzing LB footage that has impressed me. this dude has a nose for the ball carrier.
