I've never seen Essien spelt with 1 S in Nigeria, my surname is Usoro Essien and all other Nigerians I know with the name spell it with 2 S. Besides, the Ga people historically used to live in Nigeria before they migrated to Ghana...so who knows

Has it ever occurred to you that it's a typographical error? We don't spell it with 1 s, and those in Nigeria, have absolutely NOTHING to do with ANY Ghanaian tribe, Fante or otherwise.
