@ILYSSSS How can you act like they didn't? Belichick got fined $500k and the patriots got fined 250k and lost their original first round pick. It's referred to as spygate... The pats were caught filming the jets defensive signals during the first game of the season.

@Reisguard I'm aware of that whole scandal. That's not what I asked though. The question was, "What did they do, that was considered cheating?" I wasn't aware that it wasn't common knowledge that every team steals signals. That's why coordinators and teams, change their play calling signals every game, sometimes every half.
Signal calling is in baseball too. It's not illegal to steal them, just shunned upon. In football, you can videotape the signals, you just need to be on a marked location.
