These lectures truly are wonderfull, they are excellently presented by Dr Diamond and I'm so very grateful they've been posted. One small question though, isn't the section of the midbrain drawn at around 43 minutes a transverse section, not a coronal one?
Words can not express how much I appreciate these lectures. I am truly grateful to have have the opportunity to be exposed to such inspiring sharing of knowledge. The teacher I have does not even begin to approach this-- she just lists terms and page numbers we will be tested on and dismisses the class. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!!!!!!!
This professor is by far one of the best I have ever come across. Im taking A&P this semester at a community college and compared to Dr. Diamond, my professor knows NOTHING! Would you believe that there are times my professor would even tell you flat out that she doesnt know the answer to your question, and sometimes she'd have to refer back to the book for simple terms that I would think an A&P professor is supposed to know. BUT OF COURSE, THE HAVE NO PROBLEM EATING OUR TUITION MONEY.
My arrogant and unfriendly anatomy teacher should watch these beautiful lectures, all of them. I'm serious. They don't know how to teach, out there. They just know how to put money inside their pockets. They couldn't care less about stimulating and transmitting passions. Without passion learning is a real hard process especially for subjects like the anatomy which can be really your worst nightmare at times. Thanks Dr & Prof. Diamond. You rule! WOO!!
Yes, I see what you mean. It is a bilaterally double-sombreroed, mustached and bearded elephant-man with broad shoulders in a dark poncho, characterized by extra large ears, a protruding forehead and jaws, and a distended mouth suitable for lip pottery.

can anencephalon feotuses be born? If so is it possible to live without a brain bar a bit of the stem?

The cranium also contains very important regulatory glands like the pituitary and hypothalamus. Without these development would cease.
