I just realized something about Drizzt: He is, in more ways than one, quite similar to Kenshin Himura. They were both raised and trained by master swordsman(Kenshin had Hiko Seijuro, Drizzt had Zaknafein), they both leave their homes in search of a new life(Drizzt left Menzoberranzan, Kenshin left Kyoto), they are both masterful swordsman(although Drizzt's style is nowhere near as extreme as Kenshin's), they both have savage alter-egos(The Hunter for Drizzt, Hitokiri Battousai for Kenshin),
They also find a place to call home with the help of their future lovers(Kenshin met Kaoru, Drizzt met Cattie-Brie, though Bruenor had a hand in that one), and they both gain friends whose physical strength exeeds their own(Kenshin has Sano, Drizzt has Wulfgar). They also gave bitter rivals who oppose their ideals and are considered dark reflection of themselves(Kenshin's rival is Saito Hajime, and Drizzt's rival is Artemis Entreri).
These similarities are interesting, and almost scary.
